Can’t modifiy fan curve 4080 TUF

I’ve been experiencing a very unpleasant behavior with my 4080 tuf.

Everytime the card reaches 66c more, the fans go automatically to the max until it lowers itself to 60ish c. It does this endelessly, of course, when it is under huge load.

This has become unbearable since many games I are demanding, but no matter what I have tried, I can’t fix the issue.

I have tried creating a custom profile under the Tweak III app, modifying the custom fan curve and it does nothing. Even afterburner does nothing.

My last attempt was with the nvidia app by setting the fans to auto and the max framerate to 60fps, but it doesn’t solve the issue permanently.

What can I do? I really installed several driver versions without a change.

Thanks for nothing I guess…

The card was fine, it was indeed going like crazy with the fans because the hotspot was reaching 110c.

Had to repaste it and change the thermal pads as well. The temps on the gpu went down 10c and the hotspot went down 30c.

Now it is running like a charm.

PD: If your card is under warranty I would strongly recommend to RMA it.

Hi @diegopcmr sorry, this section is often monitored by customer service but they occasionally won''t reply straight away.

Glad you were able to resolve it. On a personal note, I'd recommend trying PTM7950 if looking to repaste in future. Great for longevity and even coverage. Currently using it on my TUF 4090 (EK Waterblock).

It’s really dissapointing. I also reached customer suppport MONTHS ago without a single response about the issue.

Clearly this is a design flaw, but my card was already outside warranty.
