NorthstarMN
Level 7

I'm running into an issue with the display of my bios and boot screen being misaligned with the monitor. Issue is only occurring in display port connection, hdmi it display properly. No other display issues but it's a nuisance to swap to hdmi just to view the bios properly.

Anyone seen such issue as shown in the Pic? Graphic card is a 6900xt

Hi @NorthstarMN ,

Thank you for providing such a detailed description of the problem and the image.

Regarding your issue where the BIOS and boot screen are not aligned correctly when using DisplayPort, we suggest you try the following steps:

  • Restart the device: Force shutdown and restart: Press and hold the power button until the power light turns off, wait a few seconds, and then restart. This can clear some temporary system failures.
  • Remove all external devices: Except for the display, please remove all external devices such as keyboards, mice, USB devices, etc., to eliminate the possibility of peripheral interference.
  • Update BIOS:
  1. Download the latest BIOS: Please go to the ASUS download center, search for your motherboard model, and download and update to the latest version of the BIOS.
Note: Before updating the BIOS, please be sure to back up important data and carefully read the update instructions.
  • Reset BIOS settings:
  1. Enter the BIOS setup: Press the BIOS setup key (usually Del, F2 or other keys, please refer to your motherboard manual) continuously during startup to enter the BIOS setup screen.
  2. Load optimized defaults: Find and select the "Load Optimized Defaults" or "Restore Factory Settings" option to restore the BIOS settings to the factory defaults.
  3. Save and exit: Save the changes and exit the BIOS setup screen.
  • Update the graphics card driver: Download the latest driver: Please visit the AMD download center, search for your graphics card model, and download and install the latest version of the driver.
  • Cross-test cables: Replace the DisplayPort cable: Try using another good quality DisplayPort cable to rule out the possibility of a cable failure.
Test other displays: If you have another display, you can try connecting it to see if the problem is with your main display.
  • Enter Safe Mode and perform a system restore: Enter Safe Mode: Please refer to the ASUS official tutorial (https://www.asus.com/tw/support/faq/1008829/) to learn how to enter Safe Mode.
  • Perform a system restore: In Safe Mode, you can perform a system restore to restore your system to a previous state. Note: System restore will delete recently installed programs and drivers.

Thank you.

Providing detailed device specifications (MB/CPU/GPU/PSU, etc.) and the respective driver versions, OS version, and BIOS version will help us analyze the issue more effectively.
