Hello,
Yesterday I bought ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 and I install the latest drivers 580.88 but every time I started a game or a benchmark the PC crashed and rebooted itself.
Then I went through the immediately previous driver version but again the same, then I tried to force PCIe 5.0 in the BIOS but again nothing, then I tried with DDU and went through the latest drivers again.
I found the solution in this forum where it said about the drivers 572.83 and since then the computer has been stable. To be honest it has crashed a couple of times but it doesn't do it every time.
Is my problem software related to drivers or maybe is a hardware issue?

I attach a video who shows the PC crash at SteelNomad by 3D Mark.

Hi @Romanos2314
Have you inspected the PowerDetector+ to check power balance across the cable pins?
Are you using the native 12VHWPR cable? Try with the supplied 8-pin adapter and see if the issue persists.
I note an audible thud when the system crashes. Was that you in the video, or the system?
If using a riser cable, connect the GPU directly to the PCIE slot

Hello,
Thanks for the reply,
I try 3 different native 16pins cable one of them 90o and the issue persists.
The sound at my video was from my speakers .
No I don't have the gpu vertical.
But I have good news, I think this GPU from ASUS is a beast and after hours trying to find a solution with many ways I say lets set to Silent mode the GPU from GPU Tweak III and now it passed a couple of benchmarks including SpeedWay and TimeSpy and I keep monitoring the behavior of the GPU.
But I'm optimistic and I think that was the source of the problem.
So in conlusion I use drivers only from ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 site and I set the mode to silent and until now works 100% but I must monitor it as I sed before, its too early to say thats the solution.
Thanks again for your reply.

So far this is how my card works without crashing so yes it is some kind of solution, but I contacted ASUS in my country so they can tell me if the card is DOA or it just works like that. Anyway try this with silent more GPU Tweak III or if you don't want this program do it with MSI Afterburner but reduce -10 power -20 clock - 20 mem then try running heavy benches like 3D mark.
Good Luck !!!

The card should be stable using the Default and OC profiles. Contact customer service for your region, any problems come straight back here 👍
Be sure to rule out overclocking instability by disabling EXPO/DOCP profiles and testing at BIOS Optimised Defaults.

Hello,
Yes I contact ASUS support at my country and they suggest me GPU BIOS update, but I shaw the BIOS and the only think who fix is the fans speed at S mode, I use tha GPU at P mode because I care about coolling and not so much for noise. I cannot take the responsibility for a BIOS update its a very expencive part is costs 3500 euros and if it fails that will be on me the warranty now cover the BIOS updates.
I have another one strange behavior by this Asus ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC.
At GPU TWEAK III it not appears the fourth fan who is on top ( sceenhot attached ) and I say that because at the ASUS site of this GPU it appeared normally. Any ideas why it happens?
As for the stability I make a user profile with -5 power -5 core -4 mem and its stable now, but according to your opinion "the GPU must work at default and OC profiles too" my GPY is DOA am I right?
Thanks In Advance

Not DOA, no, but the factory profiles should not induce instability.
Scroll down using the red bar on the right-hand side. You should see the centre and fourth fan control.
