Asus Rog Astral 5090 LC Pump Noise - Request for RPM Control

Tryyori
Level 7

Hello,

My Asus Rog Astral 5090 LC is extremely loud because of the pump is always in max throttle and people with the same model also mentioned the same issue.

Could you guys also request a pump rpm control from the customer service?

Hoping it’s not hardware limited…

Hi @Tryyori ,

Thank you for your inquiry.

To better understand the graphics card fan speed issue you are experiencing, please provide the following information:

  1. GPU Tweak software confirmation: Are you using the GPU Tweak software to control the fan speed?
  2. Fan speed and problem start time: Is the fan constantly running at 100% speed? When did this problem start to occur?
  3. 12VHPWR cable confirmation: Are you using the 12VHPWR cable that came with the power supply?
  4. Driver and system version confirmation: Have you confirmed that the BIOS, operating system (OS), and graphics card drivers are all updated to the latest versions?
  5. Computer specifications and screenshot provision: Please provide your computer specifications (motherboard, graphics card, CPU, power supply unit models, etc.).
  6. Please provide a screenshot of the GPU Tweak software settings and a screenshot of the GPU-Z software.

Please kindly provide the above information so that we can further analyze the problem.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Have the same issue with my new 5090 Astral OC LC. It's the water pump that is running at constant speed making the humming noise clearly heard when browsing or other desktop work. Need a fix of this, otherwise it will be returned as it's a deal breaking noise at this price point.

Hi @Subutai ,

Regarding the issue you are experiencing, to further investigate, we would like to understand the following:

  1. What is the fan speed? Is it always at 100%?
  2. Do all four fans have high-speed issues?
  3. Please also assist in confirming the six questions I previously asked.

We will verify this further for you.

We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

I dont't know how to state this more clear. It is not the fans. It's the LC pump that makes a humming noise. The fans are at 0%, not spinning at all. The system is idling, and the pump is humming. So:

1. The fans are not the problem. The humming noise is there when they are at 0%.

2. The fans have no high speed issue.

3. Before I answer them, would you be so kind to answer the question from the OP, that doesnt require any further info:

Could you guys also request a pump rpm control from the customer service?

Or is it not possible because of hardware limitation?
