Hi everyone, almost a year ago I bought my DUAL RTX 4070 OC, I've been keeping an eye on it ever since I bought it and I immediately realized that maybe it wasn't behaving like a normal 4070.
The problem I still have now since it's been in my PC is the temperature too exaggerated for a 4070, if I keep the Power Target at 100% the fans go full blast with temperatures just over 80 C!!
(obviously if I keep the default profile of GPU Tweak 3).
I also tried to do undervolt but it makes little difference, unless you flatten the clock to the factory frequency to reach the fixed 70 C but still with the fans accelerated.
How is it possible that it behaves like this? The other 4070s do 60 C perennially while mine needs a profile with a Power Target of at least 50% to stay at 60 C! (foreword: I have no AirFlow problems of any kind).
I hope someone can help me understand how it is possible and how I can solve it... Thanks in advance.
My PC Spec:
ASUS DUAL RTX 4070 OC
I9 13900KF
ASUS PRIME z790 P

Hi @Gabry98dj
Are you able to download HWINFO and inspect the GPU Edge and Hotspot temperatures?
The hotspot temp is the hottest reported sensor on the die.
Don't be alarmed by the low temperatures in the below example, I'd just opened the tool.

Yes, 110C is on the hot side. No damage will be incurred, the GPU will throttle. The thermal paste or cooler contact needs to be investigated.
It's now the weekend, so I wouldn't expect customer service to see this till Monday. Alternatively, you can contact customer service for your region directly and show them your findings. If you do so, feel free to post back here if you have any further questions or problems 👍
