I am getting an issue with one STEAM (No Man's Sky) game and one UBISOFT game (Assassin's Creed Shadows) where all of a sudden I'll hear the notification sounds and my mouse and my keyboard are suddenly then disabled until I cold boot my computer. Video and sounds continue to work though. Unplugging the mouse and keyboard into other USB slots does nothing, and neither does using another keyboard or mouse. I also notice the computer internal light mode also freezes the current light rather than having it pulsate as well. So that may be another clue.
Used Core Temp and HWMonitor, and didn't see any severe heat spikes either.
I noticed in the Event Viewer that it had an error with the IOMMU which I then researched and disabled in BIOS since I don't use virtual machines. No luck there. I've updated my drivers (all that I can think of, including the NVIDIA one and no luck either. I've disabled the X-Box overlay, and same issue.
No Man's Sky does this randomly when closing out of the game, while Assassin's Creed does this on startup sometimes. I can't seem to figure out any differences when it works or fails, it's just random.
I've run out of ideas other than I know it's not game specific. I haven't yet encountered that with any other games I've played yet.
Any other help? I've run out of internet searching ideas on how to solve this.
COMPUTER:
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 11 Home
System Model: ROG STRIX G16CHR_G16CHR
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700F, 2100 Mhz, 20 Core(s), 28 Logical Processor(s)
I have my computer *.nfo if needed. Not sure what else might help debug the issue for experts though.
Thanks

Hey Nate152:
Yes I actually did both windows, BIOS, graphics card updates which I thought would have notified me prior that these were avaliable. I didn't have any luck.
So far, I may have figured out the problem. My computer was set to Max Efficiency in the Power Mode and realized in the Control Panel for the USB Universal Serial Bus that under the Properties --> Device Management that all my USB's had the "Allow device to be disabled to conserve power" turned on for them all. Since unchecking that box for every USB port, I haven't had the issue. I need to do more testing, but that may have been the cause...

Hello Khaos526
Have you updated to the latest bios, version 327?

When starting specific games, my mouse and keyboard become completely unresponsive until I force a restart.
Symptoms:
Keyboard inputs freeze mid-game, but the PC still runs.
Mouse clicks and movement don’t register, even in the game menu.
Only a hard reboot fixes the issue temporarily.
Troubleshooting Attempts:
✔ Checked and updated keyboard/mouse drivers.
✔ Tried different USB ports—same issue.
✔ Disabled background apps, but nothing changed.
Could It Be a Hardware Conflict?
I recently picked up a new gaming mouse from Discount Shopping at Goodwill Bins and wonder if a compatibility issue is causing this. Anyone else facing this?
