Hello,
I've taken this headset for a spin this week and so far it's really good, I did not even have to tweak my EQ for it, they sound pretty nice out of the box, and the extra battery is greatly apreciated comapred to a Delta S Wireless, so kudos to you guys!
I've noticed a little issue that I didn't have with the Delta S Wireless I was maining before:
When there is a period of silence (5/10 sec) it sound like the headset is going idle and when the sound resume, it take half a second to a second to hear it again (there is a fade before the sound resume). Meaning if I mute a video for a few moments and unmute it, you can miss some dialogue or context due to the fading. Same thing happen if I pause and unpause a video/song.
I've yet to game with them but I image that for example, a period of silence will put this headset on idle and take a long time, well longer that other player to resume, meaning that you can be handicap just because of this feature. I don't know if its a measure to save power or if it's really not intended but it will be nice to be possible to have it dissable.
I don't know what are your thoughts about it, bit I don't think the "gamers" you are aiming for with this headset want any kind of delay that could alter the responsiveness of the sound in ANY circumstanse, even the rare one like my example!
Delta II is up to date to the last firmware 00.03.06.00
Edit: Well no need for speculative scenario, I just used it on discord while talking to someone and everytime there were a pause of 7/10 sec between wich of his sentence, I couldn't hear the begining of his sentence ... that's problematic!
Thanks!

According to MercuryTV who reviewed this headset, this is not happening on his headset (see latest comment on https://youtu.be/pe_3Rz8s0eU?si=8zJjkjWioyCon17b). Does this happen if you try connected to a different PC?

Hmmm, well I just tested it on my phone with the 2.4ghz dongle and I can confirm this issue still persist on here too... I could try a laptop too in a few minutes if needed, but let me try and ask him if he did update his headset to the latest firmware 00.03.06.00, It might be just and issue with this firmware.
Edit: yeah can confirm it still happen on a laptop without Armoury crate being installed.

Well, if it is indeed something introduced in the latest firmware, hopefully it’s not an intentional battery saving measure implemented by ASUS. I can’t see this behaviour being desirable by anyone, even if it saves some battery life. The headset has best in class battery life without this, it doesn’t need it. At the very least, it should be an option that can be toggled off.

@Aureliannn_ROG Tagging for visibility -- can you please check if this is a change introduced by the latest firmware? I have a couple of users confirmed that this issue doesn't exist on previous firmwares, but it's affecting @PWN3D_ who is on the latest firmware. This is not a desirable behaviour and is a dealbreaker for someone like me who is considering buying the headset.

Hi @PWN3D_
I can't replicate this on my headset. Are you able to provide the software used to demonstrate, or provide a video if the behaviour is audible from the system? Is it happening purely in Discord Voice Chat? If so, direct call or via server chat-room?

The issue isn't related to any specific software; it occurs across various devices and is only audible through the headset. It definitely happens during Discord calls, but also when pausing and unpausing a YouTube video after 10 seconds. A reliable way to replicate it is by using Google Translate in a browser: translate a word and click the speaker icon to listen. If you wait 10 seconds before clicking, the beginning of the word is inaudible.
I'm open to discussing this over a Discord call. I've sent you a private message there, although it may be challenging to demonstrate the sound issue.
Edit: Strangely, after more testing today, I found that pairing the headset using Bluetooth alone does not introduce this fading. The 3.5mm jack also doesn't produce it; so far, it only occurs with the 2.4GHz dongle.

FWIW, I was able to have another Delta II owner test this out today and they confirmed this does indeed happen. They were on the latest firmware when testing. @Silent_Scone when you tested, were you on the latest firmware?
Also should note they expressed another software issue they were having: anytime they changed EQ profiles and turned off and/or on the headset, the EQ wasn't being applied.
Hopefully these two issues can be addressed and resolved soon.

1. Can you confirm the firmware revision? After experimenting, I do not appear to hear a fade, but unmuting isn't instantaneous.
2. In regards to the EQ profile, can you expand on this? i.e. is it still applied in AC, but not working? Or does the interface reset also?
Monday
Indeed, the fade is quite subtle, but you are correct; it's more an issue of delay when unmuting rather than fading. However, this slight fade does not bode well for the sound responsiveness after a period of silence, which is crucial for a gaming headset.
In fact, even the simple act of disconnecting a device to trigger the "USB disconnection sound" from Windows is inaudible after ten seconds of silence with this headset, it's THAT bad.
