Headset (when plugged in) does not override desktop speakers.

I recently purchased this:  ASUS ROG Strix G16CHR Gaming Desktop.  I have a set of Klipsch speakers and a corded Logitech headset.  The speakers are connected to the green port in the back, and I connect the headset to the ports on the front.

I have found that if I use the sound settings in Windows 11 to activate either the speakers or headset (labeled “speakers” or “Realtek HD Audio 2nd output” on the attached screen capture, whichever one I have selected will work.  But if I have the settings pointed to the speakers and need to use my headset, I literally have to go into those settings and change which device is selected.

On my old tower, if I was using my speakers and plugged in my headset, it’s my recollection that the headset would take over without my needing to mess with the settings.
