Can't download Device firmware for Strix Scope II 96 wireless keyboard

I downloaded the armoury crate and went into the update center. I have downloaded every update but I can't get the device firmware for my Rog Strix Scope II 96 wireless. I have my USB wire connected to my keyboard and have the 2.4GHZ receiver plugged in. I have it set to wire/off mode. The update won't run.

Hi @JimFlav ,

Based on your question, whether you're currently encounter two issues: 1. The keyboard firmware cannot be updated and you receive a 4181 error message. 2. The ROG OMNI Receiver is not recognized by the AC and other devices.

To address these issues, we recommend using the official Armoury Crate uninstall tool to uninstall and reinstall the software.

Additionally, please ensure that the keyboard firmware on the official website is also up to date.

You can refer to the link below for more information.

Thank you.

Providing detailed device specifications (MB/CPU/GPU/PSU, etc.) and the respective driver versions, OS version, and BIOS version will help us analyze the issue more effectively.

So I uninstalled the Armoury Crate and reinstalled with the newest version. It installed two separate Armoury Crates, one for the ROG Omni Receiver and the other the ROG Strix Scope II 96(RF 2.4GHz Wireless Receiver) Armoury Crate. The Omni Receiver is up to date with the newest version. However I can't get the 2.4GHz Armoury to update.

When I open the 2.4GHz I'm met with a message that says "Before modifying device settings, ensure that your device is awake and set to RF 2.4GHz mode. Furthermore, verify that it is not paired with another receiver."

I turn it to 2.4GHz mode and the message goes away. I then click on the check update button. I get a message saying to turn it to Wired/Off mode. When I do this the first message in the pervious sentence pops backup and I can't update.

Also when i go into wired mode my keyboard doesn't work. I have tried unplugging the USB cord and plugging it back in. In my windows settings and in the device page, under "Inputs" it shows that my ROG Strix Scope II 96 wireless is there. As soon as I touch a key I get Driver error.

So after a couple of days of looking at everything. It's my wire connection to the keyboard that isn't working anymore. I have had the PC forget or removed device from it and then reconnected it and it still comes up as driver error anytime I press a key while in wired mode.

I still need help with this issue.

Hi @JimFlav

When plugging in the keyboard and the switch is in wired mode, can you explain what you mean by "driver error"?
Can you also check Windows Event Viewer > System and inspect the event at that time.

When uninstalling AC via the Uninstall Tool, make sure to reboot first and download the install package from the following URL: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/14Utilities/Armoury_Crate_Full_Installation_Package.zip
