[Wireless Rouer] How to Recover the Firmware of RT-AX50 Go ?

If your RT-AX50 Go becomes unresponsive or malfunctions after a firmware upgrade, please follow the steps below to recover the firmware:

 

 

1. Download and Install TFTP Server Software(Non-Asus Software)

   Please download and install TFTP server software on your computer. In this example, we use Windows 64-bit OS and Tftpd64.exe.

 

2. Download the Latest Firmware File

    Go to the RT-AX50 Go support page to download the latest firmware. You can download the latest firmware in the ASUS Download Center.

 

3. Connect the Devices

    Use an Ethernet cable to directly connect your computer to the RT-AX50 Go.

 

4. Set a Static IP Address on Your Computer

    Configure your computer’s IP address to: 192.168.1.xx (where xx can be any value between 1 and 254, except 6).

    Please refer the [Microsoft FAQ] Change TCP/IP settings.

 

5. Power Off the RT-AX50 Go

    Unplug the power cable from the RT-AX50 Go.

 

6. Enter Recovery Mode

    Press and hold the reset button on the RT-AX50 Go while reconnecting the power. Release the reset button after about 7 seconds. The LED indicator should remain solid green, indicating that recovery mode is activated.

 

7. Upload the Firmware File

    Launch the TFTP software on your computer, and follow the steps upload the downloaded firmware file.

    (1) Click Tftp Client.

    (2) Select the computer's IP address set up in step 4.

    (3) Enter 192.168.1.6 in Host

    (4) choose the Firmware you downloaded previously in Local File.

    (5) Click Put.

 

8. Firmware Verification and Update

    Once a success message appears, the RT-AX50 Go will automatically verify and begin updating the firmware.

 

9. Complete the Recovery Process

    After the update is complete, the device will reboot automatically. If it does not reboot, the recovery has failed. Please repeat the process starting from step 3.
