Bonsoir,
ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming Wifi II
Intel 14900 KF
Corsair 4x24 Gb 7200 (D548GB 7200-36 Dominator Titanium bk K2), (CMP48GX5M2X7200C36W, Dominator Titanium RGB, XMP)
Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2to , 2x
Windows 11, 64bits
Bios actuel 1602,

Hello MadMaxG60
You're combining two memory kits which is not recommended.
Try one memory kit in the A2-B2 slots (2nd and 4th slots from the cpu) and see how it goes.
Manual tuning may be needed for high speed memory kits.

Hello Nate152,
Thank you for your reply.
Originally I had placed 2x24GB as you wrote to me.
This worked very well, in XMP1 and 2 without any problems.
I bought the same identical kit and when I placed it, it worked, then it started to crash in FH5....
then since then no way to configure them in the BIOS.
I have to admit that I did the same thing in the past, going from 64 to 128 in DDR4, and I had no problems....
I took this DDR5 model for peace of mind for so long.

According to the vendor list for your motherboard, the RAM is only supported with 2 modules at 7200MT/s.
With 4 modules from 2 kits (even if the kids are identical) it can work, but it doesn't have to.
In your case it doesn't work, at least not with XMP.
And without XMP the RAMs only run at 4200MT/s because they are fully equipped.
It's a matter of luck whether the full configuration works with XMP. Usually it won't work at 7200MT/s and faster.
See screenshot to see what is actually supported with 4 modules. So 1 kit with 4 modules and not 2 kits with 2 modules each:
You can select exactly what you want on the website for your motherboard. So manufacturer, speed, supported slots (socket support).
PS:
I also use 4 RAM modules from 2 kids, which are also absolutely identical, but they are RAMs with max. 5600MT/s and they run for me with XMP and without errors in Memtest86 etc., even though there are 2 kits with 2x 16GB each.

The information on the website about your mainboard, which you show via screenshot, is correct.
Your mainboard has 4 RAM slots and supports a maximum of 192GB.
But that doesn't mean that 4 RAM modules will run at 8000MT/s. This information about the speed of the RAM modules does not refer to the number of RAM modules used, but rather that such modules can be installed. This information does not say whether they will run as expected, depending on whether you use 2 or 4 modules.
I don't think there will be a UEFI update in the near future that will allow 4 RAM modules to run at 8000MT/s. Unlikely.
They also have to be supplied with power, etc.
Currently, 4x48 GB RAM modules (from 1 kit) up to a maximum of 5200 MT/s are supported for your mainboard.
If you want less RAM, e.g. 4x 32 GB RAMs with a maximum of 5600MT/s are supported.
If you only use 2 modules, you can get more speed.
This is exactly what Asus describes on its website and also in the support area (where you can download drivers, etc.) in the vendor list for your motherboard.

Merci Inge70,

Hi @MadMaxG60
Key Points on Why Not to Combine Memory Kits:
Mismatched Timings and Density:
Memory vendors bin kits at specific densities.
Combining kits for higher density invalidates programmed timings, leading to potential issues.
Troubleshooting Challenges:
If rated timings fail, tuning the system manually becomes necessary.
Manually tuning with combined or mixed kits requires a deep understanding of memory timings, posing challenges and technical considerations that are difficult to simplify if not experienced in memory overclocking.
Time-Consuming Tuning Process:
Tuning memory settings demands significant time, a systematic approach, and patience.
Lack of knowledge of memory timings complicates the tuning process.
Recommendation for Simplicity:
Purchase a single, compatible memory kit which is one to three frequency bins below the maximum validated speed on the QVL for a smoother experience.
Best of luck.

Merci Scone silencieux
