99% of the times the FW updates are security oriented, and in general the performance is crippled
I learned the hard way during time this - I still remember with Apex Z390 board, out of boredom I did a FW update, and then I noticed loss of performance in all synthetic tests and most important, in games!
and once the FW is updated, going back is virtually impossible
so I'm leaving the FW default from now on... unless they will issue one for performance, which is unlikely... if FW is constantly updated, 1-2% at least lost every time... forced somehow to "upgrade" to the next generation and so on...
