CLEANUP

/!\ If you already had Realtek USB Audio Driver, Realtek Audio Control/Console, Dolby Access installed /!\
Uninstall them (Start > Settings > Apps) then restart your PC
Launch Driver Store Explorer > Check the boxes of all versions of drivers which .inf starts with (if you find them) :
a-volute | avolute | dax | dts | extrtxusb | hdx | realtek | rtdusbad
Check the box "Force Deletion" then click on the "Delete Driver(s)" button

INSTALL

Launch "Install.cmd" by right-click Run as admin > "Next" > The installer will ask you to restart your PC > "Finish"
Go in "Apps" folder > Install your apps from the Microsoft Store shortcuts

UPDATE

Launch "Update.cmd" by right-click Run as admin > Restart your PC when the command prompt window disappears
Launch Driver Store Explorer > Click on the "Select Old Driver(s)" button > Click on the "Delete Driver(s)" button

Note : Your apps will be updated automatically via the Microsoft Store.

Launch SS3 Cleaner by right-click Run as admin
Press Windows key + X > "Device Manager" > "View" > Check "Show hidden devices" > "Sofware components" category
Uninstall these hidden devices by right-click Uninstall device (if you find them) then restart your PC :
DTS Audio Effects Component | DTS APO4x Service Component

INSTALL

Launch "Install.cmd" by right-click Run as admin > "Next" > The installer will ask you to restart your PC > "Finish"
Go in "Apps" folder > Install your apps from the Microsoft Store shortcuts
Update your SS3 apps : Sonic Studio III v3.16.24.0 | Sonic Radar III v3.16.24.0

OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG motherboards with AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.
Hardware requirements (AMD - sTRX4) : ASUS ROG/PRIME motherboards with AMD TRX40 chipset.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG motherboards with Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

Hey @MoKiChU , I was wondering if you could help. It seems the latest driver isn't installing/updating correctly. Let me explain.

I use Z790 Maximus Extreme, which I believe is a ASUS ROG SS|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard, so I downloaded the following driver from the first page of this post:

- Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) :

Drivers : 6.3.9600.2391 WHQL [13/06/2024]

As per your instructions, I did the following:

1. Uninstalled all Realtek-related stuff:
   - I've never installed Sonic Studio or any of the other Microsoft Store apps, so the only thing I had to cleanup were the Realtek ones.
   - Uninstalled "Realtek USB Audio" from Windows > Settings > Apps and rebooted PC
   - Checked Driver Store Explorer and removed any items that were Realtek-related (avolute, etc.)
   
   
2. Next, I rebooted my PC again, and ran the new "install.cmd" installer per instructions.
   
   
3. It did its thing and the PC rebooted automatically as expected

Now, this is where I have the problem (and I believe several others before me also had this problem) — it seems like the new drivers aren't properly installing/updating. For example, when I check Device Manager, it still shows as "Realtek USB2.0 Audio" instead of changing to "Realtek USB Audio" as it used to in previous driver installations:

 Also, when I checked Driver Store Explorer, none of the Realtek-related drivers (realtek, avolute, etc) were showing. However when looking at Windows > Settings > Apps, I can see that the "Realtek USB Audio" has been installed there:

 I'm not sure what's going on, but I tried this several times and it just seems like the Realtek drivers aren't correctly installing/updating the hardware. I even tried rolling back to the previous driver (ASUS_ROG_SS-DTS_v6.3.9600.2369) that I had no issues with before, but now all of a sudden, the same thing happens and it won't install/update correctly.

I'm out of ideas what could be the issue. Do you have any solutions or ideas of what's happening and why the Realtek driver won't install/update properly even though I'm following the instructions exactly?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks @MoKiChU . I followed your instructions, using the latest driver package as of now, and under Device Manager I now see the following:

• Realtek USB2.0 Audio
• Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer

 And when I check Driver Store Explorer, I only see the driver names that start with "a-volute" and "avolute." There are no more "realtek" drivers installed.

Is this how it's supposed to be now with the new driver package? i.e. no more "realtek" drivers and the new Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer entry? Because previously when installing the driver package, the "Realtek USB2.0 Audio" would always change to "Realtek USB Audio" which I don't see happening anymore.

I finally figured it out myself (since nobody here would or could help).

For anyone else out there who followed MoKiChU's instructions and nothing would happen after running the "install.cmd" — i.e. the Realtek device under Device Manager remains as the Windows default "Realtek USB2.0 Audio" instead of updating to "Realtek USB Audio" — the solution is to manually install the drivers. Here's how:

1. Download the latest driver package for your motherboard, provided by MoKiChU in the first post
2. Extract the contents of the driver package (zip file) to your computer
3. Follow his instructions to delete/remove any existing/old Realtek drivers, then restart PC
4. Open "Device Manager"
5. Find the Realtek device under "Sound, video and game controllers" — it should be called "Realtek USB2.0 Audio"
6. Right-click the device and select "Update Driver"
7. Choose "Browse my computer for drivers" and select the drivers folder you extracted in Step #2
8. This should initiate the manual installation process (it will probably take a few minutes so be patient)
9. A prompt will let you know the driver has been installed/updated
10. Now when you check the Realtek device in Device Manager, it should show correctly as "Realtek USB Audio"
11. You're finished, enjoy 🙂

Previously, the "install.cmd" in MoKiChU's driver package would do all of this automatically (at least for me). But in recent updates, I noticed that nothing would really happen (the Realtek device didn't update proper;ly) when running this install command, in which case you can install the driver manually with the method explained above.

Hopefully this helps others out, even though I too don't work for ASUS 🙂

I have strange issue with Realtek USB sound on ROG Strix B650E-F. Windows sounds like minimizing and restoring windows etc. plays with some lag, or latency. In sound/video players and games all fine.

How fix that?
