Hardware requirements (AMD - sTRX4) : ASUS ROG/PRIME motherboards with AMD TRX40 chipset.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG motherboards with Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

After hours of toil, following the exact order in this post 3 or 4 times now, i cannot get audio console to work, as i keep getting can not connect to RPC services

My DCOM process service launcher, Remote Procedure Call and RCP endpoint mapper are all running fine and set to auto run, checked that in services and regedit, but the program will not work for me! how important is it?

I was going to just leave it uninstalled, but now even when i uninstall it, there is a zombie option in my all apps menu in start menu which i cannot seem to remove, so I'm, either left with a program that wont work, or a invalid entry that bugs me and loss of functionality for my PC i assume EDIT: managed to get rid of start menu entry by deleting it from there, but still cant get the program to actually work

At my wits end now after 4-5 hours messing about, and help would be appreciated!

I thought so as well but there is absolutely no difference with the slider on or off. and changing between those settings Communication ,Gaming, Movie or Music does nothing. i used to hear a lot of changes on my former mother board but this one no.

SS3 Cleaner (which is now included in your CLEANUP process) should fix your issue.

So, follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Notes :

- Do not go beyond 48000Hz 24Bits. If you go beyond 48000Hz 24Bits, DTS Sound Unbound will not work, and SS3 may generate crashes or lag spike with some apps/games.
- If you are not using headphones and you are using electrically powered speakers, the detected impedance is distorted and I recommend setting your amplifier to the lowest level (Realtek Audio Control > Playback Devices > Speakers > Amplify Level : Performance).

Hi,

If your "Can not connect to RPC service" issue persists :

- Press Windows key + X > Task Manager :

- Startup tab : Check that Realtek HD Audio Universal Service is Enabled.
- Services tab : Check that DcomLaunch, RpcEptMapper & RtkAudioUniversalService services running.

- Right click on your Realtek Audio Control/Console app icon > App settings > Reset
- Restart your PC.

was disabled in start up, all sorted now, thanks so much, again!

Hello, got a ROG motherboard with ALC4080 that under "Software Features" says:
- Sonic Studio III + Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer + Sonic Suite Companion
- Sonic Radar III
- DTS® Sound Unbound
I installed "Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS)" and Realtek Audio Control only, didn't install SS3 and DTS uwp apps.
Now there's no equalizer in Realtek Audio Control. How to make it appear?
Thanks for your time.

Hi,

It is by design, it's intended to work like this at least for ASUS products : If a third party drivers/app are built-in, the equalization is done via the third party drivers/app (SS3 drivers/app in your case).

You need to install Sonic Studio III app (with or without SS3 effects enabled) in order to have your EQ (you don't need to install Sonic Radar III app).

I was asking because with my previous ROG motherboard (which supported just SS3, no DTS) I had the EQ stuff with only Realtek Audio Control installed, never installed any SS3 apps.

And now a different question - I installed Realtek Audio Control, didn't install anything else.
I did have the amplifier setting in Realtek Audio Control. But after updating BIOS to the latest one (1410 beta) even that amplifier is gone.
Is Sonic Studio also required for the amplifier setting too?
Thanks.

Hi,

I see exactly what you mean, since my current motherboard is an ASUS ROG Strix Z370-F Gaming motherboard which is an ASUS ROG SS3 motherboard (so without DTS Sound Unbound), if I don't install/uninstall SS3 apps, the equalization EQ appears in Realtek Audio Control/Console app (EQ only functional if you have your SS3 drivers installed).

If you want to know why this is not the case for your current motherboard and/or If you would like to know more about your current motherboard features, please contact ASUS Support (I remind you that it is Realtek at the request of ASUS that determines your motherboards features, not me nor the audio drivers that I offer).

Impedance detection (and consequent amplify level autosetting) is only done when connecting your audio device (impedance detection can also be done automatically during an update of your audio drivers). So, restart your PC then unplug and replug your audio headphones/headset/speaker to force impedance detection.

It's very similar to what's going with my motherboard.
please look at the question
https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/intel-700-600-series/asus-rog-z690-e-sound-problem-with-headphones-con...

Reconnecting the headphones to the front panel, reinstalling the drivers, or connecting a second headphone to the rear audio output restores sound.

Could this be due to incorrect impedance calculation by the driver?

The unplug-replug operation worked, brought the amplifier settings back.

Thank you!
