Hello,

I can't rename my Realtek audio devices, when I change their name, a few seconds later they revert to their default name.
For example, I rename "Rear Mic" to "EPOS H6PRO", I close the Windows window and reopen, it's "Rear Mic" again. What causes this?

Thanks,
HawxNS.

My setup :
AMD RYZEN 7 9800X3D
ASUS ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING WIFI
ASUS ROG-STRIX-RTX3080TI-O12G-GAMING
SAMSUNG 990 PRO 2 TO
Kingston FURY Beast 64GB 6000MT/s DDR5 CL30
Windows 11 Pro

Why does the Realtek Audio console not give an option to select headphone for rear line out.  It only shows Front speaker.   On the ALC 1220 I could select headphone

Hi,

This is an mistake from ASUS in the motherboard specs of all ASUS motherboards with ALC40xx codec before AMD/Intel 8xx series chipsets :

This mistake has been fixed in the motherboard specs of the last ASUS motherboards with ALC40xx codec with AMD/Intel 8xx series chipsets :

I confirm that it's no longer possible to retask the back panel green line out jack from Front Speaker Out to Headphone with ALC40xx codec.

As result and because of this lock, it is also no longer possible to use Dolby Atmos for Headphones from Dolby Access or DTS Headphone:X from DTS Sound Unbound with back panel green line out jack :

So if using the front panel is not an option for you (for one reason or another), you can buy for example the Creative Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 USB DAC for ~20€/$.

As for "Why", it's up to ASUS staff to answer :

Thanks @MoKiChU  for the feedback.   My Corsair HS65 comes with a USB DAC.  Maybe i will move back to that one.

Seems PID1A52_PID1A97 is th elast version of firmware that i could find on the Asus Website for ALC4080 Firmware  which is this one.  Fixed Line In volume of sound  My board only lists this one to download.  Fixed SPDIF playing music is noisy.

Would it be safe to load the newer Firmware?

I think this is the last one for Asus ALC4080. It's a quick (maybe half a minute) and easy process. And if Hardware IDs don't match it won't even start. So I think it's safe.

Are you on the latest Firmware?   Also does Realtek Audio console give you the option to select Headphone  instead of Front speaker out under Device advanced settings?   Without this option i cannot select set headphone profiles in Sonic Studio.

Latest firmware for my board (ROG STRIX B560-E) is 0016 (dated 2021 or 2022, I think) and that's the one I have. The newer ones I cannot flash.

I'll check the console when I;m back home.
