OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG motherboards with AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.
Hardware requirements (AMD - sTRX4) : ASUS ROG/PRIME motherboards with AMD TRX40 chipset.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG motherboards with Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

After following your step, sonic studio 3 running error and showing this error

The current system is not supported, or the audio driver have not been properly installed. TIMEOUT

Does sonic studio iii have bug or discontinued? cause the latest x870 mobo doesn't have sonic studio iii included

Hi @MoKiChU,

I have a ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI II (with ROG SupremeFX 7.1 Surround Sound High Definition Audio CODEC ALC4080).

My microphone (part of a Beyerdynamics MMX 300 headset) has a very low (but not zero) volume no matter what I tried with the driver provided through the Asus website (or Armoury Crate). The same microphone works fine with a $10 USB converter.

Is it worth trying the drivers you provide and which one suits my motherboard ?

Thanks in advance

SS3 is EoL, so there will be no more new SS3 motherboards, but that doesn't mean that SS3 will suddenly stop working for SS3 motherboards.

Hi everyone,

As reminder, I do not work for ASUS & I do not replace ASUS Support :

- If you would like to know more about your motherboard audio features : Contact ASUS Support and/or open a new thread in this ROG Care category : ROG Care - Hardware & Software Support - Gaming Motherboards.

- If you have any issue with the last audio drivers package from this thread : CLEANUP process then install/use the last audio drivers package from your motherboard support page.

- If your issue also occurs with the last audio drivers package from your motherboard support page : Contact ASUS Support and/or open a new thread in this ROG Care category : ROG Care - Hardware & Software Support - Gaming Motherboards.

Also as reminder, you can determine for yourself which drivers package does your motherboard need thanks to these indications (If you still have any doubts, do not hesitate to ask me by PM or in the appropriate thread) :

First, the hardware requirements, in order to be in the right thread :

[DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx & Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx)

Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).
[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (AMD Legacy 6xx/7xx/8xx/9xx & Intel 6x/7x/8x/9x/1xx)
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with AMD Legacy 6xx/7xx/8xx/9xx series chipsets.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with Intel 6x/7x/8x/9x/1xx series chipsets.
Second, the audio drivers package type :

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.
So, if in your motherboards specs you see the words :

Thread updated.

Quick question:

I have already installed the Realtek USB Audio Driver (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) v.6.4.0.2395 WHQL from here.

Can I now simply update to Realtek USB Audio Driver 6.4.0.2396 WHQL or do I have to completely uninstall everything again?

The description in the driver manual isn't really clear to me.
