OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG motherboards with AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.
Hardware requirements (AMD - sTRX4) : ASUS ROG/PRIME motherboards with AMD TRX40 chipset.
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG motherboards with Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets with ALC40xx codec.

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

I'm follow cleanup instructions and reinstall twice for Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS).
No luck.
Can anyone explain how I can fix it?

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

- Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process
- Follow scrupulously your INSTALL process

For the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Asus rog strix z790-e gaming wifi. Optical audio out is cutting out/dropping several times per minute. It happens when plugged into multiple different DACs, and using several different optical cables. No problem with my older PCs optical out.

Happens on a clean install of windows 10.

Not using any extra audio stuff like dts, avolute, etc.

Using latest Realtek drivers 6.3.9600.2345.

Usb audio and hdmi audio are both working.

Lowered bitrate/sample rate and unchecked exclusive mode, nope.

Used the msi utility to turn on msi for the hd audio device, nope.

Can anyone confirm that optical out is working for them on a z790 board? Thanks.

I am having same issue on a z790 Extreme Maximus
I note several things:
1) the drivers installed by armory crate also break sonic studio, sonic radar and realtek audio control (and yes i was diligent about cleaning those off properly)
2) old style control sound control panel on win11 lets me test DTS and DD ok
3) there are no options to select DTS as the sound output format, as such everything is stereo PCM

do you happen to be using windows 11 insider/
