I was curious if you could tell me where I can get the updated ASUS Maximus XIII Hero audio drivers?
My understanding is they should be the 6.3.6900.XXX driver, however when I use them, and it seems any version, I get a pop sound in my speakers when Windows 10Pro first loads, (there are 2 pops then a delay then the third pop). If I use the old Microsoft drivers; Realtek USB2.0 Audio 10.0.1904.1, dated 12/6/2019 the issue completely goes away, no popping what so ever...

Help on this would be very much appreciated, and or where I could get assistance on this.:D

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

However, regarding the issues you are experiencing, please feedback & stay informed in this thread (issues currently under investigation by the ASUS team) : https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?125652-Fed-up-with-the-ROG-STRIX-Z590-E-GAMING-WIFI-audio-...

Thank you very much for the assistance.... I thought those were the ones, I will keep my eye on the other link as well. I have done a clean install with these drives and it seem to have an issue with the popping. I thought it was weird , how the Microsoft driver caused it not to pop, but the ROG 's did.

Thank you again.......

Hi,

Sorry if this was already answered. But what is the difference between your drivers and the ones that are downloaded from the Support page for the specific motherboard model?

Hi MoKiChU, just wanted to confirm the correct driver package for my motherboard, as I'm a bit confused by the new dichotomy (Gen1/Gen2) on the ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound drivers. Based on what I've been able to determine, it looks the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero W-Fi utilizes the SupremeFX S1220 audio codec (a rebadged Realtek ALC1220). That leads me to believe Gen1 is the correct driver download for this, but I would appreciate it if you could confirm.

Also, it seems there was a major change in these drivers that requires a full cleanup and re-install, correct? Thanks much!

Note: AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG_SS3-DTS_MB_v6.0.9254.1.zip is the last version that I installed, fwiw.

Hi,

All ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound AMD TRX40 motherboards without ALC408x codec (USB) that exist on the market today are Gen1 (AMD TRX40).
All ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards with ALC408x codec (USB) that exist on the market today and that will be released from today are Gen2 (Intel Z590/Z690 & Last AMD X570 ...).
