Hi
I just bought Asus ROG X870E Hero motherboard, and install from the Asus Hub. But the Realtek Audio Console can not start, always throwing error can not connect to RPC service. Through search in the web i found this thread and try installing the driver in here by following the guide, but the Realtek Audio Console still can not start. Anyone can help? Thanks
Hi,
You have an ASUS ROG Realtek|Dolby Atmos motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so :
You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG RTK-Dolby) from the first post of this thread.
Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.
If your "Can not connect to RPC service" issue persists :

Hi Mokichu
Thanks for the reply. So i have been trying to follow the guide and when i tried to install the Realtek Audio Console with the Microsoft Store shortcut provided, i got the following error
Any idea? Is that a temporary error by Microsoft Store server side, or something is not right in my PC?
I tried to look up these service you mentions

This error code indicates that either you have used the wrong audio drivers package for your motherboard or your audio drivers did not install properly. Check that you have downloaded the correct audio drivers package for your motherboard as indicated above, if so, refer to this post to troubleshoot : https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/downloads-for-motherboards/drivers-realtek-usb-audio-amd-5xx-6xx-8xx-a...

I retry the guide. Clean Up the Realtek Driver
I assumed the network drivers don't relate to the audio, so i keep the Realtek network drivers
And before try install the driver and i make sure
-No Zone ID
-Have the correct driver, extract the Zip and not extend the tree
Still have the error when i try to install the Audio Console, and the RtkAudioUniversalService still not installed.
When i try to look at the Event Viewer i found the following error that might be related

Since you choose to disable the ZoneID blocking completely from your Group Policy, PC restart is required as reminder and this should not be done before your installing your audio drivers package, but before you downloading your audio drivers package.

Yes i know that. I set the zone ID, restart the PC, and then re-download the driver from the link (i deleted the previous file), proceed with the guide to install the driver

OK, I can definitely confirm installing drivers does NOT update the firmware (actually, I'd be surprised if it would). After updating to the latest one on the page (fresh Windows 10 install, using the install.cmd script) the version was 4.501.0000-0008.0000 and Device Manager Hardware ID said
USB\VID_0B05&PID_1999&REV_0008&MI_00
I went to the ROG STRIX Z590-E GAMING WIFI support page and downloaded all 3 FW updates for the board, but only two would actually work with my board - the one described with "Fixed Line Out playing music is noisy", dated 2021/12/09 is the latest one working:
After applying the update firmware version is now 4.501.0000-0016.0000 and the string is
USB\VID_0B05&PID_1999&REV_0016&MI_00
This does not unfortunately solve the issue I have - lots of noise during the Arkham Origins opening screens. Are there any other updates I could look for?
EDIT: actually, it seems that the noise issue is game related: Startup videos sound terrible? :: Batman™: Arkham Origins Dyskusje ogólne, so maybe I am trying to fix the issue that isn't there :).

Hello everyone,
I need your help.
I recently purchased the new X870E-E and I have a problem with the audio peripherals connected to the Realtek sound card.
In Windows, I see the peripherals with their default names such as "Realtek Digital Output" or "Rear Mic".
I want to rename the "Realtek Digital Output" to "YAMAHA SR-C20A" and the "Rear Mic" to "EPOS H6PRO". Once done in Windows, a few seconds later, it reverts to the default names.
I removed and reinstalled the latest drivers found here > "Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG RTK-Dolby) :
Drivers : 6.4.0.2402 WHQL [14/10/2024]
Dolby Extension Driver : 9.524.657.1 WHQL [23/05/2024]
Dolby HSA SoftwareComponent Driver : 3.30704.740.0 WHQL [02/09/2024]"
I didn't have this problem with my X570E-E and under Windows 11 as well. Do you know why the name is automatically reset to the default?
Thanks for your help,
HawxNS.

Hello,
I can't rename my Realtek audio devices, when I change their name, a few seconds later they revert to their default name.
For example, I rename "Rear Mic" to "EPOS H6PRO", I close the Windows window and reopen, it's "Rear Mic" again. What causes this?
Thanks,
HawxNS.
