All strix mobos supports ss3 but they put it in armory crate with new z790 ii

I don't know.  I have a DDR4 Z790 Strix and have to have legacy drivers but I like SS3 that way and I have phenomenal sound for my 5.1 speakers. I get Armoury Crate sound effects for my Speednova Cetra Wireless though. Still SS3 standalone works better for me.

Could you be a favour. (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) these drivers I have tested on 3 different machines, they install fine but wont allow me to install the realtek control panel. But when I install the legacy the control panel installs fine. Could you test those drivers I stated and see if u get the same outcome? Because I believe there is a problem with these drivers in regards to the realtek control panel. Yet the legacy drivers work fine.

When you wrote install apps from Microsoft store.. What apps are you referring to? I'm trying to follow your guide but you lost me there. I'm also getting an error when trying to extract everything in your zip file for the most up to date driver. Path too long error when trying to copy one of the files.

Hi everyone,

@ ASUS ROG SS/SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards users :

I see a lot of confusion in the thread, I think that clarification and reminder are necessary.

First of all, don't confuse SS and SS3, they are 2 different things in the same way that Dolby and DTS are :

  • SS (Sonic Studio) is DPS by Bongiovi Acoustic Labs rebadged for ASUS ROG products : SS drivers (which are not signed WHQL and therefore are not approved by Microsoft) and SS user interface are from/in Armoury Crate and are not contained in the Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) packages (mainly because I do not release non-WHQL drivers and therefore I do not release drivers which are not validated by Microsoft, but also because the SS drivers by Bongiovi interferes with all the audio components of your system and because the SS drivers by Bongiovi are not made to work without SS user interface from/in Armoury Crate without generating side effects, like for example sound as if you were underwater).

  • SS3 (Sonic Studio/Radar III) is Nahimic by A-Volute (since acquired by Steelseries) rebadged for ASUS ROG products : SS3 drivers (which are signed WHQL (like all the drivers I offer) and therefore are approved by Microsoft) and Microsoft Store shortcuts for SS3 apps are contained in the Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) packages (mainly because because the SS3 drivers by A-Volute are made to work without SS3 apps and/or with SSVM device (Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer) disabled in order to avoid issues with Riot's Vanguard for example).

ASUS ROG SS|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards (ROG Strix Z790-A/E/F Gaming WiFi II, ROG Maximus Z790 Dark Hero/Apex Encore/Formula or more recent) users :

You can't use/install Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread (SS3 being EoL, there is no more SS3 since the refreshed ASUS ROG motherboards with ALC40xx codec with Intel Z790 chipset for the Raptor Lake Refresh CPU launch, or newer motherboards). You can only use/install Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) from the first post of this thread, know that you can only use the Realtek & DTS Sound Unbound features, if you want SS, you need to install Armoury Crate to install the SS drivers by Bongiovi and for SS user interface (which is in Armoury Crate).

If you have any issue with the last Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) drivers package : CLEANUP process then install/use the audio drivers package from your motherboard support page, if your issue persists contact ASUS Support and/or open a new thread in this ROG Care category : ROG Care - Hardware & Software Support - Gaming Motherboards.

Hi mokichu so that dps SS support z590f which I had now or it's only work with new z790 ii motherboards

Can you please help me. I have  Z790A STRIX DD5 board. I installed the drivers: Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) and the realtek Audio control panel wont install. I can install other apps from the MS Store but when I click on the Realtek Audio Control Panel it just does not download, I get a spinning circle when I click to download and then the spinning circle stops and nothing. 😕 I am sure these are correct drivers for my board. Any advice, I have followed the cleanup process and still wont install when re installing the driver, I never had this issue before. The driver when it gets installed, it is shown installed in the control panel but the Realtek control panel wont install even if i try to install it from the download package.

I'd maybe suggest making a video tutorial on the steps necessary to successfully complete this task as I've followed the details listed in your post but to no avail. I've removed all old drivers but don't seem to be able to install the latest one.

Hi,

As stated in my previous post, you can't use/install Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) from the first post of this thread, you can only use/install Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

So, if you have any issue with the last Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) drivers package : CLEANUP process then install/use the audio drivers package from your motherboard support page, if your issue persists contact ASUS Support and/or open a new thread in this ROG Care category : ROG Care - Hardware & Software Support - Gaming Motherboards.

Hi thank you for the reply. I believe the drivers that you have posted (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) have a issue with realtek control panel. The driver installs fine, but the realtek control panel will not install, I have tested these drivers on 3 z790 machines, z790f and z790e and the current one I wrote about the z790a, the realtek control panel will not install on any of them but the driver successfully gets installed.  I have tested the Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS Legacy) they install fine no issues and the realtek control panel installs without problems. You have always been great with providing drivers on this forum, but I ask you please if you could test these drivers  (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) on a z790 system and confirm fault. I even went further as in I nuked the entire z790a system as in a full wipe of the NVME drive and re downloaded the iso and re installed windows 11 and tried the (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) drivers from a straight out the box windows 11 experience and I still cant get to install realtek control panel. There is something wrong with these drivers that is preventing the installation of the realtek control panel.

Edit: I installed armory crate and let the software download the audio drivers and the realtek control panel works. Tested this one my other 3 machines same outcome. Can @MoKiChU  please look at these Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) on a z790 system and see why the realtek control panel is not being installed, thank you so much. I really do apologies asking people for help despite you telling me I am spamming this thread. I am only trying to find a solution, in this case I have potentially found a bug in the driver that you have listed because the realtek control panel is not installing on what seems z790 systems.

Thank you for listening
