Hello, and thank you for the help all these years. I have a question. I have ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F WIFI II and I have your latest SS3 DTS driver. I noticed that DTS APO4x Service Component at my system is at 1.0.11.0,  7/11/2018. Is that right? If I try to install the DTS "dtsapo4ultraAsusextensionpkg.inf" from your driver, it says "data not valid' (or something like this, my system is in Greek). My DTS Audio Effects is 1.6.8.0, 13/11/2020. Any comments? Regards....

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Thanks.

It's a pity. I was looking for a UAD driver to replace with Microsoft generic one.

If you really want to, you can do it, but you will lose the hardware audio processing performed by the DTS APO4x (which avoids CPU resource hogging for audio processing) and the loss of your DTS:X Ultra equalizer and the EQ which will appear in your Realtek Audio Control will not work (visible but not functional) since your EQ is based on DTS APO4x and its Ext/SWC drivers (it is by design, it's intended to work like this at least for ASUS products : If the third party app is built-in, the equalization is done via the third party app/drivers).

So, if you want to get rid of DTS:X Ultra app/drivers anyway :

1) Cleanup : Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process.

2) Install : Delete the ThirdParty folder from AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_TUF-PRIME_DTSX_Ultra_v6.0.xxxx.x\Drivers folder then follow scrupulously your INSTALL process (without installing DTS app, install RTK app only).

For the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow the UPDATE process (always after having delete the ThirdParty folder from AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_TUF-PRIME_DTSX_Ultra_v6.0.xxxx.x\Drivers folder).

One big thank you to  MoKiChU.💪

Possibly a dumb question, or the "update" instructions changed and I never noticed.  I've been running these for a while and use the "update" instructions and for some reason after the reboot I was always going in to Driver Store Explorer and deleting the old stuff.  I thought that used to be a step in the Update instructions as well, but now I see Update is just running the install.cmd and that's it.  So I don't need to be deleting old drivers with DSE anymore?

Hi,

Personally I do it via Driver Store Explorer after each drivers updates, but I don't ask people to do it in the UPDATE process anymore in order to being able to rollback via the Windows drivers rollback feature.

So, if you want to do it : Launch Driver Store Explorer > Click on the Select Old Driver(s) button > Click on the Delete Driver(s) button.
