Hi!

I can't make the front panel and back panel audio play different streams simultaneously on a new Asus Rog Strix Z790-H board and a Corsair 4000D Airflow case. I normally have Speakers connected in the back and headphones in the front. I switch between them from windows sound menu. Tried with "Disable front panel jack detection" on and off. The problem is that when Speakers are selected, i have audio on the Speakers and on the headphones. When i switch to the headphones there is no audio. The front panel has only 1 3.5mm jack but on the app the Headphone and Mic In are separate. Never had this issues with a Asus Z690 Prime and a Gigabyte Z790 Gaming AX in the same case.
I installed the audio driver from the boards support page "Realtek_Audio_Driver_V6.0.9400.1_for_Windows_11_64-bit"
The Realtek Audio Control info: Audio Driver Version 6.0.9400.1 and the UI Version 1.37.275.0

Any solution?

Hi,

To clarify, this thread is only for the drivers found in this thread and nothing else (if you have an issue with what comes from your motherboard support page, contact ASUS Support), if you want to try the drivers from my thread :

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Hi,

You are in the wrong thread for your motherboard, and so, you tried to install an incorrect drivers package for your motherboard.

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx & Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx).

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Hello and thanks for your response.

I tried the Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) with the uninstall/clean, install instructions to the letter.
Tried a clean windows 11 install with the provided drivers and the results are the same.

Unfortunately i have the same problem, no audio on the headphones that are connected to the front I/O.

Thanks for your input!

Whether using the official driver or your own driver, after using it for a while, maybe a few days or a week or two, when I restart the computer, ss3 will prompt time out and will not open.I can only use SS3 Cleaner to clean it and reinstall the driver to restore it to normal.

The error of the event manager is the same as in this post, Nahimic services has an application crash.Nahimic services - Republic of Gamers Forum - 909585

I'm sorry to bother you. I know you are not ASUS customer service, but I really don't know what to do. I always thought it was my problem, but I saw that someone here has the same problem as me.

My English is not good, this is translated by Google, please ignore the grammatical errors, hope you can understand it.

Hi,

Try by disabling Windows Hibernation/Fast Startup : Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

Thanks for your reply. I will turn off this option and observe for a few days to see if the problem still exists.
I saw another post with the same problem as mine, and the problem I reported does exist.

Sonic Studio III Timeout Error - Republic of Gamers Forum - 1042394

Sonic Studio III Win 11 NOT WORKING PLEASE HELP - Republic of Gamers Forum - 1047506

Thank you for your advice. After observing and using it for the past two months, I discovered that the "time out" issue was indeed caused by sleep mode's fast startup and hybrid sleep features. Initially, I tried disabling fast startup and ensured hibernation wasn't enabled on my computer, but the crashes persisted. Later, I realized hybrid sleep was active in the power management settings. After turning off this option, the software has no longer experienced crashes.

I also contacted ASUS customer support via email earlier, but they surprisingly failed to identify the issue. Ultimately, the root cause is actually the software's lack of proper adaptation to Windows, especially considering that Fast Startup and Hybrid Sleep have been present since Windows 10 and are enabled by default in the system.

Many users might be experiencing similar issues. You might consider adding prominent warnings on the driver download page about settings that could cause crashes, along with solutions like disabling specific options or simply running "powercfg -h off" to eliminate the hibernation file hiberfil.sys.

Once again, thank you so much for your help.
