TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

Hey @MoKiChU , I'm using the TUF B650-Plus WIFI which has the Realtek ALC S1200A audio codec. I've tried different drivers to find the one that works, but there have been issues with audio distortion and oddities at high volume. the main gripe that I'm having is it sounds like headphone virtualization is on and I don't have an option to turn it off. better yet, I have no sound options at all except DTS' equalizer and basic volume controls/functionality. What drivers should I Install that specifically match this motherboard so I can get full functionality again?

Hi,

You have an ASUS TUF DTS Audio Processing motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS AP) from the first post of this thread.

Hi @MoKiChU

Which drivers do I need for the Z790 Dark Hero? I tried the Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS),  but they did not work properly. I'm guessing because I have the Dark Hero version instead of the standard Hero. The official audio drivers for the Hero are different from the Dark Hero. If I install the Hero drivers, things like the Realtek Audio Console doesn't load properly and DTS Unbound shows as unlicensed.

Hi,

You are in the wrong thread for your motherboard, and so, you tried to install an incorrect drivers package for your motherboard.

You have an ASUS ROG SS|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx & Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx).

Thread updated.

Hi MoKiChU

I have a Maximus XII Hero Wi-fi motherboard
I don't know if I have the correct drivers, but I downloaded the Realtek Audio Drivers version (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS)

Would that be it??

I had problems with the console, which is not opening and is stuck in an infinite loop

Dear MoKiChU,

Happy New Year 2025!

Thank you for the drivers you provide to us. It is much appreciated.

About drivers 6.0.9785.1 there must be a problem. Via the update process it updates only the driver (as "Realtek High Definition Audio" and not "Realtek(R) Audio"), and does nothing concerning the extensions. Extensions can be updated manually via the Device Manager only. Moreover, hdx file does not update and it is missing from the folder "\AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG_SS3-DTS_v6.0.9771.1\Drivers\Win64\Realtek\ExtRtk_9785.1". I uninstalled everything and made a clean install and also at this case no extension appeared. As you can understand I went back to 6.0.9771.1 and everything is working properly.

Once again thank you very much and I am waiting for your reply.

ps. Sorry for my English, it is not my native language 😉

Hi everyone,

There was an Realtek Extension Drivers missing issue with the drivers packages v6.0.9785.1 WHQL [07/01/2025] released earlier. Delete the current drivers package v6.0.9785.1 WHQL [07/01/2025] on your side then redownload/extract the fixed one then refollow your UPDATE process. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi MoKiChU

https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/motherboards/tuf-gaming/tuf-gaming-z690-plus-wifi-d4...

I have this motherboard and trying to figure out which driver download I should get for it? I tried AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG-TUF-PRIME-ProArt_RTK_v6.0.9785.1 and could not get the control panel to install/getting Code: 0x803FB005 error.

Did follow the instructions but no dice.

Hi, I have a ROG Maximus XI Code (Z390).  I just want the Realtek Audio Driver and a working Realtek Audio Control app.  I do NOT want any SS3/Avolute/Nahimic bloatware.  Which driver package should I be using?

I've been trying various drivers (such as the "UAD - ASUS ROG RTK-Dolby" package) and while the audio driver works, the Realtek Audio Console never works.  When I run the console it always gives the error "Can not connect to RPC service".  I've made sure in Task Manager >> Startup apps >> RtkAudUService64 is set to Enabled, but the console still hangs.

I've tried uninstalling the Realtek Audio Console but when I try reinstalling it using the link in the "Apps" folder, the download & installation in Microsoft Store says "There has been an error" and fails to install. When looking at the reviews for the app in the Microsoft Store, there are tons of people giving 1 star ratings saying they can't download/install the app either.  Not sure what to do, any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for the response, but as I mentioned earlier I do NOT want any SS3/Avolute/Nahimic bloatware.  The UAD-ASUS ROG SS3-DTS package will install SS3/etc, which I don't want.  I want to install just the drivers and the Realtek Audio Control app.  Is there anything I can do?
