OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/8xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

>>>Could you direct me into which version to use for a Crosshair Dark Hero VIII X570?

Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS). I have got same motherboard.

>>>I repeatedly have issues with Nahimic and A-Volute being installed via Windows Updates, it causes my Windows to freeze and lockup catastrophically, only a system restore (prior to install of nahimic/a-volute services) or full reformat seems to fix it.

I just didn't install SS III and DTS (since i don't use any of them) and disable Nahimic service after it was installed.

Sonic Studio will auto install via Windows Driver Updates, incl. Nahimic too. This is the same method I'm currently using.
Disabling Nahimic service doesn't work, it'll re-enable on update. A-Volute also gets installed alongside. It's a literal virus at this point, the procedure of trying to manually remove any of them involves a ton of work; only for Windows to force it on you again through Updates. Once either get on my system I go from ~8second boot times into being stuck on "Preparing Windows" for 30+ seconds every reboot with explorer.exe waiting to start forever. Also having any remnants of A-Volute and/or Nahimic on the system demonstratably increases DPC latency by a crapton.

Unfortunately I rely on realtek drivers, but any variation of installing them so far has failed me. The only other solution I can think of at this point is to disable the realtek chip in BIOS and use an external USB DAC. But surely that shouldn't and can't be the solution to a software issue.

I've only recently started using the Dark Hero, I was previously on a Prime X470 (up until ~4 months ago) and never once experienced any of these issues; It's entirely related to Sonic Studio and the bloat virus that comes with it.

>>>Disabling Nahimic service doesn't work, it'll re-enable on update.

I forgot, i deleted both Nahimic32 and Nahimic64.exe in Windows Task scheduler. My Nahimic service still disabled. Only two RtkAudUService64.exe runned in system. My boot time is 7,4-7,5 seconds (Fast Boot disable).

Hello, I have a problem. My High definition audio device sound is very very low in my headphones and when i upgrade to the realtek audio driver from my motherboard or from your link I can't hear anything anymore. The only sound that is working correctly on my pc is the nvidia sound. Could it be a problem from the motherboard??(it is a brand new asus rog Z790 h gaming wifi)

Hey,

Hugely appreciate your posts and efforts, ty. Could you direct me into which version to use for a Crosshair Dark Hero VIII X570?
I repeatedly have issues with Nahimic and A-Volute being installed via Windows Updates, it causes my Windows to freeze and lockup catastrophically, only a system restore (prior to install of nahimic/a-volute services) or full reformat seems to fix it. Trying to find a version of Realtek drivers that'll work specifically without these and/or the bundled Sonic Studio (I believe it's called?).

Manually removing the service once it's been installed (through forceful windows update) results in issues, as of right now my only option is to pause any and all windows updates for months, any update only re-introduces them.

Thank you for any help or suggestions you can provide

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread.

If you have noticed issues which the root cause is A-Volute SS3 APO Drivers (of which Nahimic Service), first try to disable SS3 effects in SS3 app (if installed), if issues persists, uninstall SS3 app (if installed), if issues still persists, just follow this (know that you will lose the use of your equalizer if you do that, since your EQ is based on SS3 APO) :

To get rid of SS3 app/drivers :

1) Cleanup : Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process.
2) Install : Delete the A-Volute folder from AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG_SS3-DTS_v6.0.xxxx.x\Drivers folder then follow scrupulously your INSTALL process (without installing SS3 apps).

For the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow the UPDATE process (always after having delete the A-Volute folder from AUDIO_Realtek_UAD_ASUS_ROG_SS3-DTS_v6.0.xxxx.x\Drivers folder)

Will there not be any updates to make Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) work?
