OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/8xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

Thanks for the reply. I see what you are saying. I went to https://www.jensign.com/bdp95/7dot1voiced/index.html and he has a 7.1 PCM file that I tested and it does play through all the channels. Unfortunately my Onkyo receiver is too old to accept audio over HDMI so I am stuck going this route. Is there any software or setting that will make my PC convert all audio to 7.1 PCM before sending it to the receiver?

Only SS3 can upmix all audio content to 7.1 PCM but SS3 need SS3 licence & SS3 hardware APO which are only built-in with ASUS ROG motherboards.

However, instead of upmixing the sound on the source side, you can mostly upmix on the Onkyo receiver side even if your receiver is old and doesn't support the latest standards via HDMI, it should still be able to upmix Stereo PCM in multichannel on its side (just plug in Stereo, and not in 5.1/7.1, via 3.5mm jack or SPDIF and configure Realtek Audio Control/Windows accordingly in Stereo) by switching the Stereo mode of your receiver to a Dolby/DTS multichannel upmix profile according to the possibilities of your receiver (if you are in multichannel mode as is currently the case, it will not offer you an upmix, you need to switch to your Stereo mode).

Makes sense. I wonder why they would even have these ports included on the motherboard and instructions stating this will give you 7.1 when almost everything media wise on the computer will not be PCM. Hopefully I can return all these cables I bought. Sorry for the rant!

When you say:

- Go in "Apps" folder > Install your apps from the Microsoft Store shortcuts :

Realtek Audio Control/Console + Sonic Studio III & Sonic Radar III (Optional)

Do you mean this entire section of installing the apps is optional or that Realtek Audio Control/Console is required and Sonic Studio III & Sonic Radar III is optional?

Hi,

Only Sonic Radar III is optional. However, you posted in the wrong thread.

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40).

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Hi everyone,

As reminder, you can determine for yourself which drivers package does your motherboard need thanks to these indications :

First, the hardware requirements, in order to be in the right thread :

[DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40)
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG motherboards with Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx series chipsets with ALC408x codec.
Hardware requirements (AMD - AM4/AM5) : ASUS ROG motherboards with AMD 5xx/6xx series chipsets with ALC408x codec.
Hardware requirements (AMD - sTRX4) : ASUS ROG/PRIME motherboards with AMD TRX40 chipset.

[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx)
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC408x).
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC408x).

[DRIVERS] Realtek Audio (Intel 6x/7x/8x/9x/1xx & AMD Legacy 6xx/7xx/8xx/9xx)
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with Intel 6x/7x/8x/9x/1xx series chipsets.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME motherboards with AMD Legacy 6xx/7xx/8xx/9xx series chipsets.

Second, the drivers package type :
Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

So, if in your motherboards specs you see the words :

- Sonic Studio I : You have an ASUS ROG SS1 motherboard
- Sonic Studio II : You have an ASUS ROG SS2 motherboard
- Sonic Studio III : You have an ASUS ROG SS3 motherboard
- Sonic Studio III & DTS Sound Unbound : You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard
- Sound Blaster X-Fi MB2 : You have an ASUS ROG Sound Blaster X-Fi MB2 motherboard
- DTS:X Ultra : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS:X Ultra motherboard
- DTS Audio Processing : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Audio Processing motherboard
- DTS Headphone:X v1 : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Headphone:X v1 motherboard
- DTS Custom : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Custom motherboard
- DTS Studio Sound : You have an ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS Studio Sound motherboard
- None of the previous words : You have an ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME Realtek motherboard

My Speakers are detected as a microphone even though the Jack is in green backspeaker output? there is no way to fix this i tried everything? ASUS TUF X570 PLUS DTS Custom Driver btw!

Thread, post & drivers packages updated.

Hi everyone. Im posting here cause idk what can i do. I have ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING mobo and I downloaded the "outdated" realtek drivers throught asus support page and after installing the drivers and rebooting no realtek drivers showing up in device manager or anywhere. I found this thread and i installed "ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards" as Mokichu recommended (with CLEAN installation step by step) to others users with same mobo but nothing changes.
I have disabled fast boot on windows and mobo but no effects. Thanks in advance
