OS requirements : Windows 10 64 bit or more recent.
Hardware requirements (AMD) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with AMD 3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/8xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).
Hardware requirements (Intel) : ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt motherboards with Intel 2xx/3xx/4xx/5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx series chipsets (except ROG with ALC40xx).

Note : In order to know which drivers package to use, match the audio specifications of your motherboard with the apps or ask me.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency
Enable MSI (Message Signaled-based Interrupts) mode on all your supported devices (see the column "supported modes") with
MSI Mode Utility (Right click on "MSI_Mode_Utility_v3.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you experience crackling, popping, audio stutter
Disable hibernation (Fast Startup included).

Hi,

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC408x codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx & AMD 5xx/6xx/TRX40).

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Hey, this was asked before by others but it seems that some replies are missing or were removed after the forum maintenance so I can't find the answer.
What drivers should I get for the x570 Dark Hero?

Also a bit of a different question - is there a fix for the Nahimic service causing severe system slowdowns (making most programs take 30+ seconds to open) that isn't just disabling the service? I've had this issue with my Z390 Gaming-F system as well, and there have been posts about it here and on Reddit for years reporting similar issues, is there perhaps a piece of software I'm missing that's causing the Nahimic service to hang, or is it really just that bad? (I'm also assuming it's injecting itself to every new process for the equalizer controls and w/e, followed by hanging for around 30 seconds which causes the process to hang)

I still have a question: After pondering a while how to get 5.1 sound out, I wonder if I can do this using cable going from the Realtek on-board audio to the amplifier's coaxial input, likely connecting the other end to the line-out of the integrated audio, since it doesn't have RCA coaxial output. Is it safe to buy such a cable and expect 5.1 sound to work in movies?

Please refer to this FAQ : [Motherboard] Audio I/O connections setting and Audio 2, 4, 5.1 or 7.1-channel configuration.

Note : The audio content in 5.1/7.1 DTS/Dolby (compressed) will be played in Stereo and not decoded in 5.1/7.1 PCM, only the audio content in 5.1/7.1 PCM (uncompressed) will be played in 5.1/7.1 PCM. Only SS3 can upmix all audio content up to 7.1 PCM (or virtualize 5.1/7.1/3D audio content in Stereo/5.1/7.1) but SS3 need SS3 licence & SS3 hardware APO which are only built-in with ASUS ROG motherboards.

@MoKiChU Thanks again mate! It is likely then that I will buy the sound card below, which seems to be the cheapest card in my region that supports Dolby Digital and DTS. The amplifier is Yamaha HTR-6130, which doesn't have HDMI connectors at all, but I think it supports DTS, I have yet to confirm this. It is an old entry-level model from like ten years ago. Cheers!

I have a Z790 Hero and I'm attempting to install the drivers under the "ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboards" section of the original post.

I'm following the directions exactly as stated and have no issues through the "CLEANUP" steps, nor the initial "INSTALL" step.

However, once I get to the "- Go in "Apps" folder > Install your apps from the Microsoft Store shortcuts : Realtek Audio Control/Console" step, I receive the following "Code: 0x803FB005" error:

97729

From searching online, this appears to occur when incorrect audio drivers are installed.

Sonic Studio III and DTS Sound Unbound install from the MS Store, just not Realtek Audio Control.

Could anyone please advise on a solution? Did I install the wrong drivers for my motherboard?

Thank you!
