Does anyone know if uninstalling DTS Custom enables the speaker equalizer in the Asus Realtek Control app?

Hello!

I just switched to Asus TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI, with Realtek S1220A audio, and I have some troubles with my 5.1 sound system. All the speakers are working in test, but the subwoofer has no sound in music, games or any app.

I first installed the driver from the Asus MB page and then I remembered that I had the same problem last time with the old Asus ROG MB, so I tried your latest driver (UAD - ASUS ROG/TUF/PRIME/ProArt RTK), which was very good back then. The subwoofer still not working and the Realtek Audio Console from your folder has an error and it won’t download, and can't be manually found on the Microsoft Store.

I’ve got an offline installer from GitHub, the app is working fine, but the subwoofer still not.

As I remember from the previous MB, the Audio Console had an option to swap center speaker with subwoofer and that did the trick. The current app it doesn’t had that option. Also, with an older driver that I’ve tried now, the Console was installed automatically, and that option was available (and two other more) but it wasn’t functional, no changes were made by clicking the switches. I tried to change by hand the jacks in different slots, but no good.

Any suggestions?

Thank you very much.

Hi,

You tried to install/use an incorrect drivers package for your motherboard.

You have an ASUS TUF DTS Audio Processing motherboard, so :

You need Realtek Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS TUF/PRIME DTS AP) from the first post of this thread.

Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Oh, I thought it's a normal HD Audio..

Thanks, I'll try it now.

L.E. I've installed the recommended driver, everything works fine, except the subwoofer 😁

Since your issue also occurs with the last audio drivers package from your motherboard support page : Contact ASUS Support and/or open a new thread in this ROG Care category : ROG Care - Hardware & Software Support - Gaming Motherboards.

Thank you very much for your answer. I'll try to contact Asus Support if I can't find a solution or post a new thread.

I used to have a Rog Maximus Formula z690 motherboard and I upgraded to the z790 version but since then my SS3 says that my audio device is not compatible, I tried reinstalling the audio driver but no luck. Does this solution work with  the Maximus Formula z790? The specifications say that it's a SupremeFX audio with ALC4082 codec.

I have Asus TUF Gaing Z690 Plus WIFI D4 and driver which I installed from Asus website is "DRV_Audio_RTK_UWD_DAP_W11_64_V6092441_20211027R"

Here I see "UAD" driver..... Don't know exactly which one should I download. If possible, please give me the direct link for this Motherboard.

Hi,

You are in the wrong thread for your motherboards (whether it is the old or the new), and SS3 being EoL, there is no more SS3 since the refreshed ASUS ROG motherboards with ALC40xx codec with Intel Z790 chipset for the Raptor Lake Refresh CPU launch (like yours), or newer motherboards (please refer to my reminder post here : https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/downloads-for-motherboards/drivers-realtek-usb-audio-amd-5xx-6xx-8xx-a...).

Your previous motherboard (ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Formula) was an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so you needed Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS3-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx & Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx).

Your current motherboard (ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Formula) is an ASUS ROG SS|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard with ALC40xx codec, so :

You need Realtek USB Audio Drivers (UAD - ASUS ROG SS-DTS) from the first post of this thread : [DRIVERS] Realtek USB Audio (AMD 5xx/6xx/8xx & Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx/8xx).

Since SS3 is at EOL can i use something else for my Z790-F? SS3 is such a hassle and smart volume is way worse than windows loudness equalization. Would Realtek UAD work? Would it have loudness equalization and an EQ on it?
