Hardware requirements - GNA : Motherboards with Intel 5xx/6xx/7xx series chipsets with GNA enabled in the BIOS.

TIPS :

If you want to manage the drivers (remove old/unused drivers for example) that you have in your Windows DriverStore
Use Driver Store Explorer (Right click on "Rapr.exe" > Run as administrator).

If you want better interrupts delivery latency

Hi,

These Intel GNA drivers are necessary (and visible Intel GNA device in your Device Manager, in System devices category) only if Intel GNA is enabled in your BIOS.

I assume you will ask me what is Intel GNA (Gaussian & Neural Accelerator), so :

The purpose of Intel GNA is to offload the CPU during some computations. The primary intended usage (but not limited to) is the Automated Speech Recognition domain.

The Intel Gaussian & Neural Accelerator is a low-power neural coprocessor for continuous inference at the edge.

Intel GNA is not intended to replace typical inference devices such as the CPU, graphics processing unit (GPU), or vision processing unit (VPU). It is designed for offloading continuous inference workloads including but not limited to noise reduction or speech recognition to save power and free CPU resources.

The GNA plugin provides a way to run inference on Intel GNA, as well as in the software execution mode on CPU.

Hi,

Yes, the Intel GNA device uses a driver from the Intel Chipset Drivers only for identification, until you enable Intel GNA in your BIOS and you install the Intel GNA Drivers (the naming of your device will change from Intel(R) GNA - xxxx to Intel(R) GNA Scoring Accelerator module).

That's why I always recommend that after a clean install of Windows, first install your Intel Chipset Drivers then only in a second time install your Intel Serial IO Drivers & Intel GNA Drivers (if enabled in your BIOS).
