ROG ALLY New Updates April 25, 2024

We’re excited to announce that AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) is going to be available on the ROG Ally! Tomorrow’s (April 25th) iGPU driver and ACSE update contain everything you need to use this new feature. Just open the AMD Software and head to Gaming > Graphics to toggle AMD Fluid Motion Frames on. AFMF is not yet available in the Command Center, but we are working on integrating it further.

·        Added information to the Real-time Monitor overlay when using AFMF.

My update is in progress, hope AFMF & FSR further improves in future and gets added into more games naively or becomes easier to inject in older titles.
Big thanks to the Asus Ally team for the continued support and QoL improvements. This handheld continues to impress me.

What AMD Radeon Driver version is this ROG Ally iGPU driver based on?

Thank you for all the updates on ROG Ally this past year. It is an objectively better device than when it was release on day 1.

Unfortunately, with this version of the AMD 24.x.x driver, games like Fallout 3 (DX9) end up closing and crashing

We need an armory crate update for the xg mobile 6850. 30 watt bug is still present and make turbo mode unusable. Even with ghelper its still buggy and i get better performance on the balance 15-20 watt mode

Could anyone tell me how to install the MCU 317 update? When I search for new updates in ACSE 1.4.13 (latest version), no new updates were found. Maybe automaticaly installed when new ACSE was installed. Thank you.

So happy to see the support and updates coming from ASUS! Have found it has made Fallout 3 and New Vegas crash after the title screen (about 2 seconds into the loading screen). Looking forward to a fix or tips about this.

Hi @MasterC I can see AMD have just officially done their game ready driver for Doom. Offically via Asus we are 2 or more months behind the official AMD updates. Now that AFMF is here an that was obviously a big update for you. WIll you be any quicker getting in line with the AMD drivers? Can we expect an update ready for Doom before launch? to ensure it runs properly and the best it can, or will we have to wait months for an update?

Ps. Why can we no longer sideload the 7840U / 780m driver no more it seems its forcefully been stopped and we keep getting 43 errors on windows now. It seems to be done on purpose but im unsure on the reason.

Thanks
