Update Final Pics

Hello from Australia! 🙂

I'm totally new here and also a beginner in building water cooling system and case modding as well. I've just done my first build recently and decided to make a build log to share with you my long but very excited journey. Yeah that's my first water cooling build ever, first time modding something, first build log so far.

Also English is not my first language so I'm sorry if you found something funny in my post. However I'll try to post as much detailed pictures as I can hopefully that will cover me well.

I'm also running this build log on overclock forum at the same time (which suppose to be the original one).

Ok, that's just for now. Too much pics for a post? Correct me if I'm wrong, any feedback and suggestion would be much appreciated as my lack of experiences. Hope you enjoy guys and see you in the next update which will be posted very soon, Cheers!

It's been killed for sure 😞 somehow. Is there any way to contact moderator to fix it?

Update...

I don't know anything about Sketchup (just start to learn how to use it from now on) therefore I have to draw a basic design onto paper, that gives me an overall idea how and where to start.

Oops reservoir not reseivor... wrong typo 🙂

Main scheme would be Red - Black and a bit White alternated, the goal is a simple and clean system.

Unhealthy soft drink is a must 😛

Start cutting mid plate, mb tray cover and 5.2" bay cover from 1.2mm aluminium sheet

5.2" cover

mid plate top layer

MB tray cover

Also cut out mid plate's bottom layer from 3mm cast acrylic

Just a test, they fit perfectly

Drill some holes for tubing on mid plate

Test fitting again

Pump is secured by two screws and spacers on the side

I want to illuminate the mid plate in an unique way so let make some cuts.
Plunge Router - a cheap one 🙂

But it does the job

Ok this is what I want, much better now

Continue to work on the bottom layer of the mid plate
All the edges must be polished

My cheap plunge router's guide fence is unreliable, very hard to control in making straight cut, then I have to make my own one from some plywood and timber

I'm now using it to engrave the bottom layer

The mid plate is completed, time to light up to see how does it look

I'm really happy with the result.

Ok, that's it for the first update, hope you enjoy! cya 😮

Update...

The mid plate has done, now is time to work with 5.2" bay cover. I print out a big ROG logo then transfer it onto the alu piece

First cut out with a rotary tool then hand file

It took me almost 3 days to smooth the cut but it's worth it

The second layer for this also has been made from 3mm frosted acrylic then glued together

And here is finish product after painted

Mid plate and Mb tray are also painted

Not bad

GDAY DavidNSY, Welcome to ROG and Congrats on a top albeit ambitious project for your first build.:)
Make sure to benchtest your MB and major components prior to assembly, not only to pre configure Bios settings but to ensure everything works just fine. It would be a pain in the proverbial should you have to disassemble your water cooling setup to get at stuff for a simple issue. This has happened to others regularly!!!.
And your English is just fine, keep us updated and Good Luck.
