Prodigy Zx6R Monster Edition

Welcome everyone to my latest build log. I was approached by a friend who wanted a pc similar to Perfectly Pink except more manly.

We discussed ideas, and he mentioned that he owned a Kawasaki Zx6R Monster edition, and boom the theme was created!

After dialing in a few things i made some renders

thanks man! and the investor for this project had a lot of these parts already, so we decided instead of spending a lot more money lets just reuse what youve got. he alread had the cpu block, fans, gpu w/block, hdd, ssd, and rad.

i think: njet @totalrognoob^^ gtx 660 is not like a boss-but the look of all these modings (particularly the evga miniboard-headsinks) is nice i must realy say... 😜 *but to the gpu: i ask me everyday when i change my 3x670 4GB for more fps and my board to have more lanes on every gpu i have... 😮 but when your friend not have the cash, to take some new card, you dont can do it better i know... but i my eyes you had to take some better cards 4-highlevel gaming... (and also a nice min. 120fps screen-to minimize the microframefail's..) ...but to combaq to you build, the tubing is verry nice for the smallness of the hole build, i dont have the nerves for something i will say... 😉 all to small 4me... 😮 but the effect is real nice...

Update

More painted goodies and polished gpu block

the Corsair Dominator bars were painted green to match the build, and to tie things together inside the case a little bit better, plus it just looks cool!








I wanted to add some extra detail to the motherboard as well, so i painted the heatsinks. I've got some other cool details coming from my friends at v1tech, more on that later

I also polished up the ek FC block, i did this before in Perfectly pink and loved the way it turned out, and knew if i ever had the chance to do it again i would! The photo booth shots didnt turn out great, but my ultra high tech state of the art floor and window light provides much better results. *there is a little tarnish on the block, it came to me this way from investor.

Gotta disagree.

It's RoG if there's an RoG product in it.

It's still kick-ass though.

Update Tubing completed

with most of the cosmetics done, i decided it was time to start the tubing.

For this build i am using Primochills PETG tubing, and their rigid bender.

for anyone who is thinking of going with rigid tubing, PETG and the rigid bender is a must. the bender makes quick work of 90d, 180d and many other bends.

I decided to tackle the hardest bend first, the GPU to Rad.









next up was the gpu to CPU







*there is a kink, in that photo, but it has since been replaced *

now for the pump to Rad





and the last tube, CPU to Res







all together now





next update will be sleeving. I'll be using UPC's Aegis sleeve for all the cables. they will also have to all be made from scratch to flow the way i want them. kudos to anyone who puts the full 2' length inside the prodigy

Update : Wires, Sleeving, and Some Vinyl goodies

wow this build is almost done, but is it just me or do the final finishing touches seem to take the longest!

the time has come to tackle the wiring.

Anyone who has ever built in this case knows first hand the challenges with cable management. So for this build, like most of mine, i started fresh

i used UPC's 16 awg wire, original molex crimps and housings, Aegis sleeve , and cable combs. nothing but top notch stuff!

first up i is the GPU wires. fortunately the MSI 660 only uses 1 6p so that was a quick and easy task. i crimped one side, installed the wire then ran the path i wanted it to go. Once i had the length i crimped the other end, rinse and repeat.





Same Process with the 8p cpu



Notice the 24p in that photo, it works but it wasnt as clean as i hoped. So i made a 2" "stubby" extension and then a proper 6" extension to finish it up. this keeps the business end looking as clean as possibly.

Once all the wires were measured and crimped it was time for sleeve!

The Aegis sleeve is awesome, its not too loose (mdpc) and not too tight (telios) plus it looks sooo good, Enjoy
















I also took this time to sleeve the Fans









My friend andrew over at v1tech just got a vinyl cutter so i sent him some fonts and my ideas and he cut them up! Installation was a breeze

first up was the evga i/0 plate, i removed the original logo and applied the cut out. (the green matches a lot better in person)





next is the powersupply! I did something similar to Perfectly Pink, and knew i wanted to add that little extra detail to this build. it turned out great

first i removed all the stickers from the psu, trimmed the transfer paper to fit. applied it

I think thats all i have for today, i still have some more cables to sleeve (sata, pump, i/os) install leds, fix the two tubes since the cables caused the res not to fit where planned, fill, leak test, drain, fill and final photos!

*Final Update before unveiling*

wow what a challenge it is to install everything in this little case! the front panel headers were the worst! i had to use a needle nose pliers to plug them in!

with that being said, everything in now installed tested, and i've already delivered the finished product back to the owner.

before i go ahead and post all the photos, i wanted to throw a disclaimer out there.

The coolant is not green, i know. i used mayhems pastel green and its more of a gatoraid lemon lime color than green. i think i saw a thread a while back saying they needed an extra drop of blue to make it work. well i wish i would have known that before hand, but being is that i've already delivered it. (yes the owner knows) theres not much i can do.

with that being said i think overall this build turned out great! please look past the off fluid color and enjoy!
