Neon Lights!

Hey all, basically i have lying around 2 neon lights and i tried pluggin it into random slots where it can be fitted although the neon lights don't turn on. so my question is where on the Maximus IV Extreme Z motherboard do i plug in the neon lights to??

Kool ill try find the cables and the invertor at my local store. whats the invertor for though?

Spiral, your power supply outputs 12V which is not correct for those. Neon/cold cathode are high voltage. At one time I'm sure there was an inverter they connected to which steps up the voltage. Completely ignore my above post and I'm actually going to delete it so that nobody else follows that advice.

hmmm i'm guessing a computer store will know what a cold cathode invertor 300v then? how much they cost?

It may be a proprietary setup but I feel like I've seen that same plug on a set of lights I have or used to have so maybe it's more common. My guess is that it probably isn't sold separately at a PC shop but you could check. Your best bet is probably to find one on ebay. There's probably another soul out there who lost the lights and still has the inverter. 🙂

It would probably be cheaper to to buy a whole light kit they are not very expensive. I checked on eBay and all I could find were the whole light kit
