I thought I’d share my thoughts for the benefit of others here who are considering the JSAUX Mod Case for their ROG Ally.
I received my Mod case for ROG Ally today. Unfortunately I find it to be less than satisfactory. I purchased this case to protect my ROG Ally while in my backpack, but I’ve found the travel cover will not stay on the case, as the bottom clip will not engage with the bottom edge of the case. In fact, the travel cover keeps popping up and will not stay flush against the face of the case. For this reason alone, I’m afraid the case is not useful for its intended purpose. The cover should clip securely to the case so that the device remains protected during transport. I’m unsure if this is a manufacturing defect, or a design issue. As such, I requested a refund.
Additionally, it was disappointing to see that the travel cover does not wrap around and cover the shoulder buttons and instead they are left exposed and not covered at the sides.
As a side note, I found it extremely difficult to put the Mod case onto my ROG Ally, and it took me several attempts to get the top corners over the shoulder buttons and triggers. I was actually afraid I was going to break either the case or my shoulder buttons.
I’ve now placed my $12 AliExpress case back on ROG Ally. If Dbrand eventually produces a white version of their KillSwitch for the Ally, I may consider getting one of those instead.
