First PC Build for a Customer!

Alright guys, I'm going to be doing a build for my cousin who doesn't know too much about computers and wanted an iMac (NO!). I am building him a decent budget setup and with some nifty thoughts and ideas I had in mind here is how it goes:

CASE: Zalman Z11 Plus Mid Tower (Customers #1 pick) (Newegg link here).
MOBO: ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ (Newegg link here)
CPU: AMD FX-6200 (Newegg link here).
GPU: EVGA GTX 560Ti (Newegg link here).
PSU: COOLER MASTER GX Series 750W (Newegg link here)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB Blue (4x4GB) (Newegg link here)
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB (Newegg link here)

and now the cool part... I decided to go all out with the Enermax Vegas Duo series, virtually he will be able to switch his whole lighting scheme into 10 different modes, but more commonly.. between Red and Blue LED's!!

The only thing he asked was that he wanted a nice dark case with blue LED's... So I think he will like the turnout 😉

It's very straight forward, with exception of the lighting.. which will be pretty neat! I will post pictures, we're going to my local supplier on Sunday to pick up all the parts.

He's adopted 2 of the parts from me at next to nothing. I had 2 AMD FX-6200's and I will be upgrading my 560Ti 🙂

I do need to know some information, if anyone might have the answer for it.. I need to know if it's possible to hard-wire the fan controllers to all work off of one? This would be much more logical than finding a way of mounting several seperate controllers.. I think I can do it, not positive! If anyone has any prior knowledge of this please let me know 🙂

you can buy led light whit molex cable on them if you want ( large 4 pin power connector ( not for mobo connector ) )
or one whit a 2 pin plug ( its a smal plugg like the ones you have on the front pannel that you connect to the mobo front panel connector )
or you can buy a controller or some thing, its up to each and every one how mutch monney they want to put in to their builds/pc's.

I took my time with it measured everything and cut it precisely haha I have great attention to detail. If it didn't look right I would've scrapped it immediately!

Attention to detail == quality ... it shows. Excellent work and hope word gets around about the quality. That is the best marketing you could have.

How did you get the image onto the plastic sheet, is it stuck on under it?

It is simply just floating between the PCB and the clear plastic. I didn't want any sort of adhesive to show through and couldn't think of one that wouldn't show through the top. if you drill holes through the plastic backing where the screws are (you may need longer screws) then screw them back in, it will pull it down and tie it all together.

Let me know if you need any more guidance, I will post a proper tutorial if I decide to make one for my 680.

wow! cool backplate on that evga gtx 560 ti! how thick was the acrylic sheet you used?

I would suggest 5mm acrylic or plexi glass 🙂

Here is a look at the custom backplate I made for him with my 5mm poly. I tried something different this time and used a thin strip of 2 way tape between the plexi-glass and the image, near the back of the PCI-E slots. I then used 4 small foam "risers" (the little foam squares that have 2 way sticky to it) between the PCB and image.
