Never a bad thing though aye 😉 Always good to learn something new

all obsticles removed .
block on the die ...

it was making strange sounds at that point . sound like the cpu is cracking 😄

thats enough

my basic loop

Rather the die itself... 🙂 I don't think the CPU's die was designed to support that pressure...

What material is that washer you placed around the die? It has the same height than the die? So, the block is actually pressing both the washer and die? What TIM you used?

Regarding your loop, I think those two 240mm rads should do the job... if the CPU will produce heat... - one thing though... I like to have the CPU inlet right after a radiator... but with that amount of rad surface and high flow rate it's fine this way too...

oh , sorry , liquid pro was used on the die .

the washer i used is thinner then the die .the die is 0.5mm , the washer is 0.4mm .i cut the "washer" from a notebook hard cover .
its there only to prevent too much pcb flex . the die still gets all the pressure , it can survive lots of pressure if done right .

coolance QDC's were added , so i can remove the toys when they explode .

Hm... actually I would have tried to have all the pressure through the washers... with the Liquid Pro, you don't really need high pressure between the die and cooler block... - I'm really curious how this will end... 🙂

Please, please, post pictures when you turn on your rig! And some temps... (have you took the temps before de-lidding that CPU by the chance?)

2 akasa apache PWM fans on the top rad .

stock cm storm case fans on the lower rad , controlled by built in fan controller in the case .

monstaaaaaaaaaaa

initial temps @ 5g , looking for prime numbers 😄

LOL, exactly 20C below my run with stock heat spreader at that speed... That's really nice!

Do you have experience with the original IHS put back after changing the TIM? It seems to me that people were reporting similar changes in temps...
