Hello Everybody,
I am CorsarioJoao and this is a custom case i just finished(will mod it up a little bit in the future but this is the finished base). Its made out of wood and aluminium and its split into 3 compartments(Up,Front and Down)
Up. is the MB area with some cooling fans
Front. is a fan area with support for a 5,25 device
Down. is the PSU and SSD-HDD area

The theme i want to achive is a piraty-used look.
I know the Hardware is outdated but i plan on updating it.
Please express your thoughts about the case(negative or positive)

In the future i plan to update the visuals of the case with a red LED strip and 2 mounts for SSDs next to the sidepanel window.

Thank you.

You got me wondering just how nice I can make a case out of wood(I cheat, I've got a laser cutter and full woodshop, and can get access to a shopbot CNC thing). I've also got some black veneer left over from another project...
The only problem is all my good plywood thicker than a 1/4" is spoken for. I also have no idea how to do steam bending yet. I'll probably settle for something simple so I can get it done before I'm snowed out of the shop.

To my experience with the proper tools you can do whatever you want with wood.I always loved it as a material and i couldn't find any info on wooden pc Cases so i decited to go for it 🙂 As it turns out i could have donne a better job but i am not the best woodworker around so i am pleased with it as a first timer 😄

You did very well with what you had. Your ingenuity is actually quite impressive. Most people would just give up and not think of a way to fashion a case for themselves.

i wish it snowed more where I live--less burning-hot summers and more cold-snowy winters, please.

If you are going to put several different cases together, you can always take them apart and remove the paint, and then primer and paint (or powder coat; or go cheaper by getting spray paint that has primer in it) the pieces you use and they will all look like they are from the same manufactured case.

That's the plan 😄

totalrognoob- If you do build a wood case, you might make it like a sexy mini-chest of drawers. The top drawer could act as a test-bench with the mobo, gps, and such. The second drawer could have reservoirs/pumps and some radiators/fans in it with quick-disconnects, for when you want to test new items in the 'test-bench drawer.' The third drawer can hold the PSU and some permanent rads/fans. A fourth drawer could hold games and miscellaneous PC items . . . and maybe your underwear.
