Z97 Software (Sonic Studio) question

lowquality

Hi,

I just built my first pc. Everything is perfect so far, except for asus software support which is horrid.
When I bought the motherboard I was also interested in the audio software suite.
The only thing that was on my computer after the install was Sonic Radar and it directs me to Sonic Studio. I can't seem to find Sonic Studio on the mobo DVD and I really want it for the virtual surround (I have invested in audio as well).

My relevant specs: Asus Maximus Hero VII

This cannot be changed. The hardware IC used for Sonic Studio works in the analog domain and there is no way to pass that back to the codec for digital output, sorry.

Most of the time, receivers have their own surround modes, profiles and even equalizer taps for users to manipulate sound - the target audience for this feature is for user that have speakers or headsets connected directly to the analog outputs from the motherboard.

The processing for virtual surround happens at a digital level (before DAC) and will normally afterwards be converted to analog.

Proof of this is that changing the settings for the fake headphone (I have a 3.5mm jack plugged in to fool the system) will also affect the sound I hear through S/PDIF, which is digital out. Bass Boost works. Not sure if virtual surround works but it sure seems like it.

Also, anyone who invests in a decent headphone will find that driving them with a motherboard isn't sufficient. So it's too bad the optical out/usb users aren't included in 'target audience' :(.

I have the same issue. I built my PC in a NZXT 440 case so I have no DVD. I downloaded all the software I could from the support page but I could not find Sonic Studio.

I have installed the audio driver but there is no SupremeFX audio UI.

Where can I get the software download?

So where is sonic studio, I was able to get sonic radar II off the installation dvd but no sonic studio.

Sonic Studio, Sonic SenseAmp and Sonic SoundStage are integrated on the SupremeFX audio UI. When you open the audio UI you will see it, where Sonic SoundStage and Sonic Studio are two different tabs.
In addition to it, Unlike other audio solution, all of the these features includnig Sonic Radar II automatic installs when you install the audio driver, that's why you won't find another installer on the Support DVD autorun menu. Just execute the audio driver installer and everything will be there.

I see it now lol. Sonic radar still won't show up in games (tried hot keys). Maybe it's bf4 (all I tried, new build), maybe u know something I do not?

EDIT: Apparently sonic radar doesn't work with 64-bit games or something. I'm trying to remember what supremefx and in-game settings i was using when I had the daredevil-esque hearing cuz i started playing games like BF4 again lol

I have exactly the same problem. In my opinion , this motherboard is over-hyped

I don't even know what sonic studio is. I thought it was what I was using, but it turns out it's just the Realtek HD Audio Manager for supremefx. I got the latest from the website. It's freakin awesome for virual surround gaming with stereo headphones, I hear almost as good as daredevil. It also installs sonic radar ii, which will load but not show up in games. I think it's a waste of time, unless I'm using speakers, then it would be nice. But it don't work. Apparently I have v2.1.7, no reference to it period on the net, not even A similarly designed version of sonic radar. what give, I don't want to spend another 40min of long distance AGAIN to asus tech support just for another "duh.. it's not on my screen so I don't know."

Edit: Thank's YTChen, I see it now.

I too just reinstalled my new G752 and now I don't have Sonic Studio. It's not included in the Audio Drivers Download Section. Any way that I can download Sonic Studio back onto my ASUS ROG G752VL? Thanks.
