This I hope is more for information and help to all. I've just updated the ME Firmware to 'Version 12.0.49.1534' on my z390-e and it stated that had worked successfully. However there does seem to be no real way of checking this after reboot. So I've come across this tool by Intel 'Converged Security and Management Engine (Intel® CSME) Detection Tool ' -> '
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28632/Intel-Converged-Security-and-Management-Engine-Intel...' which when running the GUI will tell you if there is an issue and crucially what version of the ME you have installed at the bottom. Please do read the license agreement!
