Hi all,
CPU: i7 6700k
MB: Z170 Pro Gaming
RAM: 16G @ 2133

I have an annoying sound problem. Im using windows 7 64bit with the latest sound drivers from asus. After a few minutes or hours the sound has some artifacts and i also get some fps drop at the same time. Is there a way to fix this? Also tried to disable all sound effects.
If i restart the PC everything is fine for some time.
Help please.

Looks like something similar to previous issues with SupremeFX on other boards:

Looks a driver issue, maybe you can try using other Realtek drivers from the Realtek website?

Seems to be a driver problem. Works well after restart. But time differs each time from 15 min to 3-4 hours until the "crackaling" starts.

Are you using headphones or speakers? Haven't really seen many issues on the new realtek chipset for newer boards so it could possibly be connection issue with your headphones or speakers?

Have the same issue on my side, any fixes?

Just noticed if I remove the apc PowerChute drivers the sound issue gone.

I have also been struggling with this annoying crackling and frame freezing. Like others it starts with the windows chime at boot and will usually go away with a reboot. I thought it might be caused by the steam drivers but no luck. I have removed and disabled most software at boot up and been fooled by many red herrings.
I removed all the AMD sound drivers, not even sure where they came from but probably loaded with Radeon drivers with ASUS R9 390 series drivers.

I'm also using the PowerChute software, so I guess that's next to go if the problem pops up again, but so far has remained stable with the AMD drivers gone, but I will let you all know how it goes.
Cheers,
Katoum
