I am new here. Glad to join the community!
There’s a PDF document that I’ve been working on for a month, most of which was written on Asus ZenBook UX305 on Windows 8. However, after the Windows 10 update, I suddenly can’t open it anymore. It gives the following message, This file contains information not understood by the viewer.
Has anyone got this error?
Thanks.

You can try installing a PDF reader if none already installed (Adobe Acrobat is by far the most common, it's also very slow and bloated)
Otherwise you can try uninstalling/reinstalling your existing PDF reader

You can try installing a different PDF reader

You can try submitting your file to an online PDF reader (although I don't advise uploading any private/sensitive data to random websites)

You can try running a PDF repair tool (always on a copy of the unreadable file, not the original, in case it irreversibly changes/wrecks any data)

Now there are lots of alternatives for adobe reader that everyone can use. For example:
Use Google Chrome to view PDF files
PDF Open File Tool
Google Docs
Foxit Reader
