Really? I've had a nightmare trying to install the audio drivers. I got the newest one from the ASUS mobo support site:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-HERO/HelpDesk_Download/

The newest RealTek audio driver is V6.0.1.7829 from 2016/08/04, which is newer than the one on my mobo disk. The headache comes from it's "Uninstall first then reinstall" process, because every time you boot after the uninstall, stupid Windows 10 tries to install it's own audio drivers, which don't even work. Then you go to install the RealTek driver and it wants to uninstall again, creating this infinite loop of uninstall, reboot, uninstall, etc. I went to safe mode (which stopped windows 10 from doing its auto-install crap) and got the driver installed, but like I said, Sonic Studio 2 simply doesn't launch.

Anybody else had these issues?

Yep. I a common issue. I put down my 2 Asus boards already. I really want to see since I check all vides, what user do to make these works. After many attempts and and on last 1601 MS W10 update I got tired to make these works. In the end i got 2 generic boards with Asus brand. I will try again with other model of Asus to jumpstart again the brand as soon I get note with my vendor to see what they will do. I got another brand for my 6700k with out any issue and rocking solid 4.5 at 1.35 24/7 I can not be more happy. I sit down for 12 weeks until on the end 1 got VRM issues on stock. the same CPU on another model, have usb issues, and on my new board 0 issues. is sad that the forums is FULL of problems and until now no one can id the problem. I now is more on a MS side. since is forcing to use windows drivers. but still why is not happening on my new boars. sometimes I get here to read If I can start using my Asus products
Learn, Play Enjoy! We help and collaborate, NOT complain!

I get the same problem. Sonic Studio 3 has no effect on my8 b250f board. One of the design flaws is you need to run it as admin, it doesn't autostart for standard user.

Things that fix the issue is like an above poster said toggling disable all enhancements. Sometimes I toggle this a couple times and it kicks the sonic studio effects into gear without restarting. Also sometimes just loading stonic studio first and then loading your program afterwards. or restarting your program will fix it.

Another issue not discussed much is how horrible the quality of the sonic studio sound is with the original version and driver off the motherboard disc. It sounds totally horrible, it makes drastic changes and actually sounds like crap to my ears. MY solution to this was to install the latest realtek driver from the realtek site, not asus. Then install the latest sonic studio from asus site.

Now default sonic studio enchancements slightly increase the sound quality, allowing you to make changes if nescessary. IMO, this sounds way better. Cause with the original realtek drivers and sonic studio III, I was better off without it. Now its an actual enchancement.

another issue I have even when the effects seem to be working is that checking the surround box doesn't upmix stereo to fill all the channels. On previous other pc mobos I had realtek had a speaker fill option. And I could play stereo streams in all speakers as soon as I switched to 5.1 Not working on this asus board. all music is only playing in front speakers not rear or center. I miss thx tru studio already 😞

Also I can't get the dam effects to work on the netflix app no matter what.

maybe you know that, but for all future people who will read my message

If you do not know or find sonic sonic sonic studio, you just have to go to Control Panel -> audio hardware -> HD audio manager realtek -> tab speakers -> bottom tab sonic studio -> launch sonic studio and launch sonic radar
