Periodic stuttering when GPU Tweak is running

Terepin

I reported this via the online feedback form 6 months ago but never got a response. basically, as long as the app is running all games are suffering from stuttering that happens once every few seconds. I am pretty sure this is caused by Windows 11 v24H2, because before that I never had this problem and even after trying an old version that was working correctly back then is causing it.

Hi @Terepin

Make sure you're running 1.9.5.8 firstly.

I can't say I've experienced this, and it'd certainly be pretty noticeable. Can you list full system specs, please?

Also which titles this is most noticeable in.

9800X3D / 6400 CAS 28 / ROG X870 Crosshair / TUF RTX 4090

Here is screenshot of GPU Tweak's processes:

As you can see almost all of them are constantly using CPU. Not by much, but they are. Also, one of the WMI Provider Host is constantly using 0,2% of CPU while GPU Tweak is running.

My rig:

Ryzen 7 5800X3D

TUF GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC

32 GB DDR4 3600

ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming

Yeah, it won't be that. HWiNFO utilises more than this.

Have you tried running LatencyMon to check DPC latency?

I did. No spikes whatsoever. In fact starting GPU tweak didn't affect it at all.

So I guess I shouldn't be expecting a fix. Bummer. I will need to stick to Afterburner.

Not unless it's something that's able to be reproduced in replication. Any suggestions?

I noticed that blacklist is completely empty after a fresh install. Unless pre-included apps are hidden by default.

Another thing is to provide logs, if possible.

I think this is likely something very system-specific in your case. Are there any titles in particular you want me to check the frame data for?

It happens in every game, but it is easier to see in overlay when you have stable framerate (above frame limit). Personally I use Tomb Raider Remastered for this reason.
