NVME set to ACHI but cannot secure erase

Trying to wipe a WD Black using ASUS secure erase and noted SATA config must be set to ACHI, which it is, but no option for secure erase comes up in the Tools tab in BIOS.

Any ideas?

Hi baloneys

I don't see any Western Digital drives on the ROG Secure Erase compatibility list, probably why the option disappears.

It says in the bios that if you try to use secure erase on an incompatible ssd, it will render it useless, or another word, brick it.
