Multiple spawning (50 at boot) Discsoft Virtual CD-ROM drives - ASUS Utils /Dvrs ??

Just built a Maximus VIII Hero setup and installed the ASUS AI Suite III and numerous ASUS drivers and utilities on Windows 10. I have also installed other tried and tested software which has never caused an issue before.

This is causing a serious issue for me.

Physically, I have installed Sata devices -
SSD (c:), DVD-WR (d:), HD1 (e:) HD2 (f:) and 2 x HDD's which won't auto mount. All devices are availabe for auto mounting (online in Device Manager).

SATA Port assignments: DVDRW = ASMedia SATA 6G_E1, SSD = INTEL SATA6G_1, HDD1-4 = INTEL SATA6G_3 TO SATA6G_6

Also although I started off successfully R/W to HD1 (E:) but by some magic, HD2 is now (E:) and HD1 is now F;

I am unable to use a USB stick unless I first delete offending Virtual CD-ROMs

Every time I delete the virual devices the respawn on bootup.

Q Is HDD Mount the and Virtual CD-ROM separate issues or one and the same.

I am trying to safely remove ASUS s/w but unsure of the risks. What I don't understand is I havn't seen the issue on this forum.

I have same problem. How do you disable the Daemon pro?

What are you using to mount the HDD's? Not really sure but they might not mount unless there is data there, I know that in win explorer there is a drive auto-hide feature if its blank.
SpeedFan controls fans and temps, once you learn how to configure it properly. :cool:

Ya I just noticed the same thing on a Maximus VIII Impact

I7 5960X/Asus RE5u3.1 -3101/64gb(16x4)@3133 @1.39V Gskill 14-15-16-36 cr2/3xTitanX/ WD RE 6.0 TB RAID 0+1/Samsung 840 Pro 256 x2 Raid 0/Samsung 850pro M.2/Asus Essence One/Corsair Ax1500 PSU /Corsair Obs 9800D case/ 3 2xRad 120x3 and 120x1/ EK MB block/AquaC Kryos CPU/Koolance GPU x2/ Bay 452x2(ver2) (2x655 serial)

We found this solution.

Accidentally when browsing device in Device Manager and found DAEMON software (virtual disc) under Storage Controller.

Disabled this device and check on Device and Printers under Control Panel and this list of virtual disc is gone.

It looks like the DAEMON was installed previously and removed BUT didn't remove the drivers.
