I messed my system up by undervolting

I was experimenting with the GPU Tweak and undervolted the card too much. Well the problem is the program is set to automatically start with Windows and obviously apply the settings. Now I just can't boot up to desktop at all. Of course you can't run it in safe mode to change settings, so I am basically screwed.

Is there no "safety switch" or something? I know it's my responsibility and everything, but it's so easy to end up like this.
I couldn't even find where it stores settings. Is there any documentation somewhere by chance?

win boot menu>

diagnostic mode and unistall the app

or safe mode, and unistall the app

problem solved i guess

if not, mount the SSD in another computer, and remove the app manually that way

Are you even aware that Windows Installer does not run in safe mode?
Please stop giving advices when you have no idea what are you talking about.

What DOES work in Safe Mode is the Run command. Type in msconfig and set GPU Tweak to not run when Windows boots.

If I had moderator privileges, I would ban you from the forum for a month; but, then I like to talk with people who are polite and have a little more decency toward people who are trying to help.

Edit: I don't use GPU Tweak, so I'm not sure how it behaves in Safe Mode. If you can't get into Safe Mode at all, then it looks like a good time to be thankful that you back-up your files regularly and F-Disk, format, reinstall.

Stop beig ridiculous, and cut yourself off the internets if you are so horribly offended when noone even used a single bad word.

This program is seriously bad. The lack of safety and the way it works just asks for a disaster.
It just happened again.
I thought I would be safe if I do not set it to run with Windows, so that any bad settings wouldn't affect the system. WRONG. There's ASGT.exe service running in the background, so I thought it must be it, so I disabled it in safe mode. It still didn't help at all!
What's even worse, next step was to disable the service again, and delete the entire folder from Program files. GUESS WHAT. I still cannot boot!

At this point I don't even know how the damn program works and where it stores profiles/settings, but if anyone who can forward feedback to programmers visit the forum, please for the love of god, make them 1) document its functionality properly, and 2) have a safe way to use it implement.

in win boot menu, you can select safe mode start up win vista/7/8, whats so difficult about that?

Inside win simple remove the app and the components..

Problem solved?

solution 2

and once again, you obviously got 2 computers, mount the ssd in this machine, and remove the program completely.. and when its done, move the SSD back to the native computer again

Is seem to be a standard in this forum, issue on one computer, and the other one for demanding immediate assistance..

we (the members) are not on Asus payroll, simply trying to help after the best we can..

Get a official support ticket if you think the help you get in here isnt sufficient enough.

Problem solved, i am out of here
