GPU Tweak III

pharma
Level 9
For the past two years, we have been working closely with enthusiasts from all walks of the industry to define the next chapter in the GPU Tweak saga. That collective feedback has been carefully packaged into every layer of GPU Tweak III. At the forefront of the revamp, there’s a completely overhauled UI, automated profile loading for games and apps, and new ways to track vital metrics and stats. To bring GPU Tweak’s aging feature set and UI into the modern era, we felt we had to start from the ground up. This would allow us to create a more flexible foundation on which we could build up...

Latest Release: 2021-01-18
Known Issues:

The Nvidia GeForce Experience overlay and the GPU Tweak III OSD conflict with each other and can prevent games from running when both are enabled. It is recommended to only run either the GeForce Experience overlay or the GPU Tweak III OSD.

The CPU Usage field in the OSD may show incorrect values.

When multiple programs are in the same place, the layering of different GPU Tweak III windows (main screen, Monitor, Settings, and OC Scanner) may be inconsistent, so some elements may fall behind other programs while others are in front.

Frame Rate Limit requires any running games or programs to be restarted before taking effect. Currently this function only extends to 255 FPS.

OSD fonts in GPU Tweak III style only allow for Calibri and Calibri Bold adjustment. Full font adjustment will be added in a later release.

GPU-Z clock values do not update in real time. To update the clock values, close and reopen GPU-Z.

Mouse step size controls have not been implemented yet.

Not all hotkeys are completely implemented at the moment. Notably, the Timer is visible but not working.

Screenshots will always be saved to the default folder, not personally selected folders.

The Default display wallpaper is just a blank black background.

Wallpaper transparency has not been implemented yet.

Fahrenheit temperature settings only affect the Monitor, not the other parts of the interface.

Some interactions with the OSD may cause an error to appear referring to "mFinitialize Fail". This error does not affect operation.

Programs that have multiple different .exe files with the same names may not swap settings correctly and may use the wrong profiles. For now, set all related .exe files to the same settings for a smooth experience.

Game and application file names are not sorted properly in the Profile Connect window.

Just curious, is there a way to stop GPU Tweak creating a log file? As far as i know i have it set so it shouldn't make one, but upon a Windows back up i noticed it saving a lot of log files from GPU tweak. inspected the file and it had over 2 million (not an exaggeration) log files in it when it should have 0. Also is there a way for me to make GPU Tweak stop creating a damn screenshot folder in my pictures folder when i don't want nor need it?

Are you referring to GPU TweakII or GPU TweakIII?
On GPU TweakII there is a way to stop the logging easily, which is something I do every time I update the software.
As for the SS folder, I haven't found a way though it is always empty and I delete it as part of software upgrade every time for a clean install.

If you are referring to GPU TweakIII and this is no longer possible (happens with ASUS Turbo LAN latest versions which I simply decided not to update to because of this), this would be a deal breaker from my end.

yes I'm referring to GPU Tweak III, forgot to mention that. Well looks like i won't be using GT3 if i can't stop it from logging:(

Me neither if that is the case.. have anyone here managed to stop it from logging?

As of now, I see it has been added to my video card's support page, though if logging disablement is not an option, I dont see myself upgrading into it until it is.

Until they provide a toggle to turn off logging all you need to do is block GPUTweak in your firewall if you want to avoid logging on your support page.

Depends on your installation path, but my entry blocked entry is C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\GPUTweakIII\GPU Tweak III.exe
Your firewall likely already has a firewall rule you approved for access to the internet.

It seems your quotation for my reply have been altered as it added "..to your support page" while my original post doesnt have that part.

Can you please also explain how is the logging process related to approving online access?
Isn't logging basically a local process that we wish to prevent in order to ease on the SSD hammering time?

I have tried to open a feature request on the support page of GPU TweakIII but that process fails as well 🙂

Thanks.

This cant be right. Did clean install on drivers and GPU Tweak III but what ever I do software will try and set my memory to 11000 something Mhz. Slider does not go under 10000 mhz. What gives ? its a Asus 1080TI OC (strix). 94195

Took a lot of crashes to figure out what was wrong.

With v1500 there is still screen flikkering with my Asus GTX760-DC2OC on windows 10 21H2.

I reported this problem many times at Discord.com.

And i did send feedback to the developers on this website: https://www.asus.com/campaign/GPU-Tweak-III/be-nl/index.php
