GPU Tweak III

pharma
Level 9
For the past two years, we have been working closely with enthusiasts from all walks of the industry to define the next chapter in the GPU Tweak saga. That collective feedback has been carefully packaged into every layer of GPU Tweak III. At the forefront of the revamp, there’s a completely overhauled UI, automated profile loading for games and apps, and new ways to track vital metrics and stats. To bring GPU Tweak’s aging feature set and UI into the modern era, we felt we had to start from the ground up. This would allow us to create a more flexible foundation on which we could build up...

Latest Release: 2021-01-18
Known Issues:

The Nvidia GeForce Experience overlay and the GPU Tweak III OSD conflict with each other and can prevent games from running when both are enabled. It is recommended to only run either the GeForce Experience overlay or the GPU Tweak III OSD.

The CPU Usage field in the OSD may show incorrect values.

When multiple programs are in the same place, the layering of different GPU Tweak III windows (main screen, Monitor, Settings, and OC Scanner) may be inconsistent, so some elements may fall behind other programs while others are in front.

Frame Rate Limit requires any running games or programs to be restarted before taking effect. Currently this function only extends to 255 FPS.

OSD fonts in GPU Tweak III style only allow for Calibri and Calibri Bold adjustment. Full font adjustment will be added in a later release.

GPU-Z clock values do not update in real time. To update the clock values, close and reopen GPU-Z.

Mouse step size controls have not been implemented yet.

Not all hotkeys are completely implemented at the moment. Notably, the Timer is visible but not working.

Screenshots will always be saved to the default folder, not personally selected folders.

The Default display wallpaper is just a blank black background.

Wallpaper transparency has not been implemented yet.

Fahrenheit temperature settings only affect the Monitor, not the other parts of the interface.

Some interactions with the OSD may cause an error to appear referring to "mFinitialize Fail". This error does not affect operation.

Programs that have multiple different .exe files with the same names may not swap settings correctly and may use the wrong profiles. For now, set all related .exe files to the same settings for a smooth experience.

Game and application file names are not sorted properly in the Profile Connect window.

Despite disabling hotkeys in the program settings and deleting them in "regedit", they are still active and when typing in Polish and using diacritics mark alt + "any key", even if the key combination in the program is "ctrl + alt +" any key ", the program activates its shortcuts.
It should not be like that. The same problem was in the GPU Tweak II and it took a long time for you to fix it.

Great to see that we shall finally get the new version of GPU Tweak. I would like to make one suggestion, and that is to allow us to use NVIDIA frame limiter with your software (since GPU Tweak II did not provide this option and with the installed program you couldn't use control panel one). GPU Tweak II was useful in monitoring and overclocking your cards both I uninstalled the program because of this program (since some games do not have a native frame limiter in their options). Looking forward to a full release in the near future.

GPU Tweak III not minimizing even after the "Start Minimized" checkbox is ticked and rebooted.

I'm not sure if I should be starting a new thread for this, so forgive me for commenting on this thread if I should be: I'm not familiar with asus forums let alone specific software forums for things such as gpu tweak 3 forums...

As the title states, I'm getting regular errors of the same type (I'm not tech savy but believe they are the same), when running GPU tweak 3. they occur every time I use my computer

I really like the software, in that it has allowed me to get a much more stable overclock for my GPU then MSI afterburner did, on my rog strix gaming wifi F mobo and rog strix gpu (rtx 3060 12gb oc). However, this is the error I keep getting:

I've tried googling it and finding a resolution on my own but haven't been able to find anything of use.

I'd really like to diagnose what is happening, or at least hopefully be given the info on how to fix it, if it is possible? Thank you for taking the time to read my comment!

these errors are occurring on system start up (program is currently opening on start up as requested), but also during gaming whilst the processes are running in the background.

I've also noticed a lot of weird behaviour that wasn't occurring in the beta version I was running (most recent beta version I believe), such as settings randomly changing on their own such as boost clock and memory clock, without my input even with a stable OC (no crashes). GPU clock inaccurately displaying GPU memory clock usage being at 1880 mhz (when checking in task manager, the GPU is at idle). The alpha version displayed a correct O when it was idle. The fans are also set to 53% when at only 30 degrees Celsius (straight after boot into the software), where as on the beta version, they were at 0 at that temperature (as they should be). there was some weird behaviour when trying to set my own fan speed curve on the beta version, but auto ran as it should at least.

for a officially released product, it is simply not fit for purpose in its current state, not for me anyway. I'm considering downloading the most recent alpha version again as it displayed the GPU usage correctly in the monitor settings, and didn't randomly change my set values, or have weird fan settings even on auto.

If you were a customer of Asus products, what would you think about the regular errors and numerous bugs in an officially released piece of software? I'm somewhat disheartened considering the recent $3,600 AUD computer build, of which several hardware components are the Asus Rog Strix brand. Just being honest I guess.

I look forward to these issues being rectified as soon as possible because I want to support Asus products and software, not MSI afterburner which can't even OC GPU's as stable as GPU tweak 3 can. Thank you for taking the time to read my comment!

I needed something to allow me to do a quick power tweak (I like running the card at half power on older games to reduce heat and noise) and I couldnt find the nvmi tool I used before so I grabbed this. I am on an asus mobo but the video card is an evga 1080gtx. It works like I needed it to (I am actually trying running with a lower temp profile instead of messing with the power levels, this should smooth out hitches when the card runs out of power).

That said like asus software, its buggy. If I try and open up the windows after windows has been running a while the program is simply not responsive. I need to kill it and re start the app.

while running GPU Tweak III V1.2.1.1 when I select the OSD slider to be on, I constantly get the following message:

I get a pop-up labelled "Nagato.exe - Entry Point Not Found" in which is stated "The procedure entry point GetPackageFamilyName could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll"

Is this a known problem?

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 and using twin ASUS Strix 980Ti GPU's in SLI mode

NOTE: I have tried removing the program and re-installing to no avail. I also get the same pop-up whenever I start GPU Tweak III.

Best Regards
