I recently put Ubuntu on my system with USB. I did this because my windows 8 was totally corrupt and wouldn't even let me boot into the recovery mode.
So Windows 8 seems to be totally gone from my system and I put Ubuntu on through USB.
The guys at best buy tell me the windows system and keys are installed into the mother board. All I need to do is re-install windows and it will register itself with the keys in the motherboard.
So that is a bit risky, I guess I still have to buy windows 8? I've tried making a bootable usb with Windows 8 ISO's but I get a "Missing operating system" dos prompt.
I really don't know what to do. I don't suppose a
Windows 8 recovery USB will work?
I still can't boot from disc, either. I guess my DVD Drive is messed up, I already tried the remove and clean fix for that as well.
I had Windows 7 and it said it was missing drivers.
