Hi I just got my laptop a couple of days ago and I am having a problem. Everything was working great until I installed windows updates and then when I went to restart and log in to my computer I got a black screen. I researched this online and found a couple that there is a possibility that the problem is with a windows update. The thread listed the following as the problem:

I unchecked auto updates for now and am reluctant to update anything until I find out if this is what the problem is, because I also saw a thread somewhere that mentioned a bios issue. Is this a windows update problem? And if so what steps do I take so that I can update my computer safely?
