Hey thanks guys much appreciated, I think I will give afterburner a try. When I play far cry 4 and alt tab out of the game, I notice one of my cards is sitting at the base clock and not boosting. I'm not sure if this is a driver problem or the dunia game engine with sli.

I noticed the same thing, so I disabled ULPS in the Windows registry - all three cards now appear to be utilized all the time.

Thanks Dr.Z

I'm not sure if that is just for amd cards but I will give it a try and report back.

It must be for amd cards only, I followed this and I get nothing to change ULPS.

For my AMD cards, I can also disable ULPS from MSI Afterburner - there may be a similar option (under a different name) for people running NVidia, but I do not know.

Well it seems I was using an outdated version of precision x, downloading the latest version ( precision x 16) now gives me on screen display in far cry 4. I fixed the boost problem by unsyncing the cards and raising the gpu clock offset on the card that was not boosting. I never had to do that before but it seems to be working.
